So, is this road really used? Where does this road eventually go to? If there is a decent sized town at the other end of the road why does the road still go through a haunted town and why hasn't anyone built a new bridge somewhere else?

The town beyond Nulb is called Sobanwych. It's suffered greatly after the fall of Nulb and they don't really know what to do about it. The road connecting Hommlet, Nulb, and Sobanwych is (IIRC) called the Low Road and goes all the way to Dyvers and Greyhawk through the Gnarley forest. I think the High Road goes through Verbobonc, enters the Gnarley further to the north, and goes through Dyvers to Greyhawk.
