Seek advice - Sealing the Vault?
Hi.
My group knocked down everything in the moathouse, except Festrath, Chat & Gren. They were badly hurt and out of spell that they went to Hommlet before going in the MH dungeon.
I'm planning to seal the vault with Gren using the scroll of Stone Shape before they reunion with Dunrat. But I wonder whether the group could find & get into the vault when they come back.
Any one has experience or advice to share? Thanks.

The priests may leave behind enough evidence to make curious players say "Huh?"
The platforms pulley system was attached to the ceiling above the pit by some means. Unless Gren used a Stoneshape to remove it then there should be some metal hook, or something, to hang the pulley on. Then there's all the rope, the pulleys and the platform. Gren could have carelessly stashed that stuff in another room thinking that no one would find it, or know what it was for.

Trithereon's got it. She might also have dumped it in the pool. She's nuts, so you can justify almost anything by that.
And even if your players never find the obelisk cave, it won't hurt the story any.
