ToEE campaign log?
Hi,
I've just started a campaign with a group which I hope to take through the original Temple of Elemental Evil (converted to 3rd Edition) and then through RttToEE (same players, but different characters). I'm thinking that seeing the original, and then how it gets changed in the Return will be a lot of fun.
In any case, my question is whether there is interest in seeing the campaign log for the Temple of Elemental Evil part of the campaign; or whether that is too off-topic for this forum?
Opinions?

I would certainly enjoy reading it. Even if you end up posting it somewhere else instead, let us know where it is.

Do it!
Since i've never read those adventures and know very little about them, i say go for it! I'd very much like to read it. or better yet get one of your players to do it.

Re: ToEE campaign log?
Thanks for the encouragement. I'll start up a new thread with the first installment shortly.
I'll try to add in some comments to relate things to RttToEE.

How do your PC's feel about running through both modules, I don't know how long the first one takes but the RttToEE takes a long time, you may need to cut the modules down in scope to alleviate boredom.
Other than that, I would like to see the journal from the first ToEE adventure, should be interesting.

Could you maybe throw in some comments about your conversion of the module to 3rd edition? I'm at that stage right now and could use some tips!
Should be a great read!

Re: ToEE campaign log?
I'll see how it goes as far as player boredom goes, as I've heard that the Temple itself can drag. I'm also considering making the end-game easier: cutting down on the elemental nodes stuff a fair bit, for example. I'm also planning to try and drag them in to the intra-temple politics a bit by having agents of the fire or earth temples in Nulb try to get them to attack the other temples.
If they need a change of pace, I'll throw in a side-trek or two. I'm also considering doing the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth and the Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun in between ToEE and RttToEE. I'll basically see what my players are feeling like once we're done with ToEE. This is a long-term plan, and we'll see how it turns out. It may well be that my wife is the only player to end up going through the whole thing.
As far as conversions go, I've basically done the moathouse at this point. It was pretty easy: RttToEE was helpful because most of the moathouse is physically unchanged, so I could just grab search DCs and NPC stats (reduced a few levels) from Monte's work. The first few levels of the Temple look like they won't be too hard to convert either: the biggest part will probably be updating the NPCs to 3rd Edition.
Having the ToEE in PDF form is a godsend, as I copy room descriptions from the PDF into word, convert them to 3E, and then print out on 3x5 index cards.
The first installment is in this forum as Corran's Temple of Elemental Evil Campaign.

Re: ToEE campaign log?
Although I for one would find it fun to convert the ToEE to 3E, Piaw Na has done all the creatures/NPCs here. It seems relatively complete. Together with the PDF version of the ToEE, you can form the whole thing.
BTW, Corran, thanks for posting your log. It brings back fond memories. My very first PC in our first and only TPK.
