Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
"I think it would make sense to have the other end at least masterwork."
Hmm, really good point. It is indeed masterwork by definition. That means just take the point off damage.
"The ez-codes are a godsend, though."
I figure it is far easier for me to do. I just click on Plain Text before posting.
"I have absolutely no idea what to do - except redo the Errata thread."
I suppose you could split up all the errata, perhaps by area (like main entrance, western bridge complex, ...) or map (A, B, ...)? Dunno if the EZBoard restriction (if it is one) can be lifted.

I agree that's the probably the best option here and might even be easier to navigate in the end, although may be a lot of work. If you need help, Siob, let us know.
The other option I'll throw out here is that I have the ability to host it somewhere else. HTML, text, whatever. I should even be able to give Siob FTP write access for updates. Let me know.
There is the Yahoo group as well, although I'm not as fond of it (I can't stand their forums with the ads).

Moderators, any ideas what can be done?}
"Moderators" -- you say that like someone besides me is actually going to pay attention!
Of course, I don't have a good answer for you. I'd suggest simply cutting the CRM up by area and making each one a separate post. You have to create the posts or you won't be able to edit them later.
I'll do some leg work for you
Map A: 1-20
Map B: 21-30
Map C: 31-53
Map D: 54-72
Map E: 73-94
Map F: 95-105
Map G: 106-123
Map H: 124-155
Map I: 156-172
Map J: 173-188, 192-197
Map K: 189-191, 198-217
Map L: 218-232
Sorry I don't have any better ideas...
-Thrommel, who has plenty of worse ideas if that's any consolation.

Well, I had a hunch it would be you, but a) I didn't want to take you for granted and b) at one point, I asked you to do something and one of the other Mods (Pevishan, I think) pointed out that he or St M could also do it.
Well, that was way back when before they became star Moderators with posses and agents and all. Nice that you haven't forgotten your roots.
(All of the above paragraph was a joke, BTW. All of the mods do an excellent job)
I'll go about creating them now. Oh, and Thrommel, thanks for the leg work. It'll be useful.
Edit: I've begun work now, as some might have noticed. The errata page is bound to be a bit of a mess for the next day or so (maybe more - depends how much there is to do at work), but it'll get better.

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
Thanks guys
It's OK, it was a little daunting at first, but once te various sections (ie posts) have been set up, it's a breeze. Oh, and don't worry about the missing errata in the first (main) post - I took a backup at work.

Now that you've set up the initial posts, I'll see if I can find some time to help out moving the various pieces from the main post to the appropriate CRM section.

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
Thanks, Thrommel. Do you have a full copy of the errata? Everything from Tessimon's strategy and onwards is unfortunately gone - part of the problem that brought about all this in the first place, I'm afraid.
Otherwise contact me, and I'll see what I can do. Oh, BTW, the first post that now contains the bulk of the errata is intended as an introduction, credits, and errata for Hommlet, the Moat House and the Old Temple.

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
Just want to make a comment:
I don't think we should get hung up on "average" hitpoints or NPC wealth.
Not all NPC's are going to have average (or more) hitpoints. There are some who rolled badly and as a result have fewer hp. As long as it isn't at either extreme edge of hitpoints, I don't even think it should be included as errata.
Also, I'd like to disagree with the point about Rarkus' sword, based on the contention that there is an NPC wealth "limit". It isn't a limit, it's a guideline. In this particular case, Rarkus is the boss commander. He's going to have a large percentage of the wealth.
But hey, that made me look at his stats, and what do you know, they're wrong.
p. 169 (Ruined Temple 16 – 37) -- Rarkus' attacks should be +7 (1d8+6) and +7 (1d8+4). The second attack only gets half strength bonus. If you prefer to make the 2nd blade non-magical, the damage is 1d8+3.
Siobharek, thanks for all the work maintaining the errata. Hopefully the missing chunks can be recovered. I have an old (11/14) copy which has a comment on Thrommel's hitpoints, plus I remember my additions for Maracla and Dirass (if need be).

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
"Not all NPC's are going to have average (or more) hitpoints." I agree 100%, but upon looking through the whole thing it seems the intent (except where multiple monsters of the same type are found in the same location) was to use the average and leave it up to the DM to modify it. I say this because at least 95% of the monsters and NPC's are given with average hitpoints. So, when it's not average, I'd have to assume it was a typo. In the end, I'd rather leave it up to the DM, but point out the descrepancy. I might not have said anything except for Tippesh's toughness feat and the "error" of exactly 3hp.
On Rarkus's sword, you are right about the damage. Slipped right past me! I agree with the boss commander theory as well. Well, I guess I better because I didn't even know about the rules for double bladed weapons and one of my players, "Are both sides magical?" I responded, "Of course!" before I realize that it cost another 2000gp.

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
And of course, I end up going on a mini-rant, but happen to agree with Tippesh's hitpoints. 6d4 + 6 + 3, I think it should be. I guess I was more thinking of Heunar's 13 vs 14 hitpoints, and I seem to remember a couple others like that.
My characters happily sold the doubly magical double bladed sword, and I had no trouble with that.
Truthfully, it seems as though the module has less treasure than experience. My party is about to turn 11th level (2nd foray into Outer Fane) and have about 30-40k apiece. What they haven't yet ID'd and sold will probably add only another 10k apiece.

Re: Errata/Questions (Map C)
I certainly didn't even view it as a mini-rant, but constructive comments. Personally, I much prefer all of them to be listed at average HP so that I can more easily adjust them on the fly according to my party's capabilities. I realize I could do it anyways, but it's more of a comfort zone. Just works for me that way I guess.
"Truthfully, it seems as though the module has less treasure than experience."
I was thinking of how it would work out in the end IMC. Did your players "hit every spot" so to speak? Did they pretty much collect all the possible treasure? I suppose it's real easy to justify "just giving" them more (e.g. Verbobonc decides to help the party against the ToAC), but I'm not sure I recommend freebies like that!

Sjerk, thanks man. Good to know, and if I need it, this is where I'll ask. I did, however, make a file copy of the errata, so we oughta be cool.
Oh and thanks to everyone for your messages of support. Best way to start a cold, freezing Friday.

Errata structural change complete.
Gah - it's done
I've updated all the errata from this thread. based on the discussion about Boss Monsters, I've decided NOT to errata (is that a verb?) Rarkus' sword. The rest works out, right (attack bonus and stuff)?
That's what truly sucks about doing this from work: No books.
Oh, and thanks for the ftp offer, Zans. It looks like we won't need it now, but I appreciate it nonetheless.

Re: Errata structural change complete.
Siobharek, I believe the errata should include Rarkus' sword in regards to correcting the 2nd attack damage. Two-headed weapons give full strength bonus to the primary head, half strength bonus to the second head.

Sierk's Saturday Sessions
(Plug for my campaign logs).
In short, the party went through the moathouse, ruined temple, CRM (all 4 temples), the dwarven complex, all 4 bridge complexes, both gates. I threw in a restock of the South Gate with 21 trolls with a good chunk of money.
Basically, they've only missed Nulb, the Bugbear areas, and a few scattered treasures (like the hidden ring of counterspells, that sort of thing). The group has mostly split things equally (once the treasure is id'd, characters put claims in for gear, then sell what they don't want). I even allow a "trade-in" value of 75% rather than the standard 50%. If they are trading in a +1 shortsword for a +1 longsword, that sort of thing.
Here's the magical items purchased/found by one of the original NPC members:
Urzin (NPC BBn1/Cle9/Templar1):
Greatsword +1 (2350)
Mithril Full Plate +1 (11,650)
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 (2000)
Cloak of Resistance +2 (4000)
Ring of Sustenance (2000)
Boots of Speed (8000)
Bag of Holding I (2500)
Scrolls/Potions/Wands(3500)
Coins/Gems/Misc(2000)
OK, that's 38,000 for a 56,000 exp char. I also count that he should be getting around 10k in loot as his share from what they are carrying around. Well, I guess that's not too far below the chart (49k for 10th level, 66k for 11th level). I don't think they'll make it to 66k apiece before 12th level. It's a large party, but that reduces exp as well as treasure.

Andorax, yeah I know. It was payback to Zans for his group's e-mail address at the GEAS project. s.thustrup(at)tiscali.dk is more friendly.
SJERK, lemme get it straight. The errata concerns the (wrong) damage regarding Rarkus' left attack, right? I'll add it, and if the thing about whether it should be a +1/+1 two-bladed sword changes, I'll just add it.
