Character Voices
This is a rather odd question... but does anyone use any specific types of voices for the NPCs in this quest? I use different tones for different people and different situations, sure, but my old DM used a bunch of funny accents when he spoke for NPCs (espically dwarves or orcs), and I was thinking it would be a good way to get the party to remember certain people better...

Re: Character Voices
There was a thread a bit like this a while back, I think (I certainly hope) it got BoBed. Ashamed I can't remember who contributed (I certainly didn't) but there was some terrific stuff there.

Re: Character Voices
Yeah, some recurring folks certainly have voices.
Tymerian (the wizard in Rastor) is very mousy and meek (the result of seeing all her friends fried by lightning towers, and feeling a little guilty about all that.) She never looks people in the eyes, and says "um" and "uh" every other word.
Hammersong (the priest in Rastor) stares at people, and speaks in a monotone.
The PC's are pretty anti-social by this point (the result of being screwed by Chatrillion, and blamed for a recent demon attack on Rastor). So they don't get to interact with a whole lot of other NPC's on a regular basis.

It's here. It doesn't seem to have got BoBed, though there's a post on the second page from Siobharek pulling together the best bits in preparation for BoBing, but there's some great stuff in there if you ask me; it would be a shame to lose it (I think it's currently on page 17...)

Re: Character Voices
I used a slightly slurred Scottish brogue for Xaod...

Re: Character Voices
Xaod was drunken. I believe he actually told one the PC's he loved him. . .
Chatrillon was low and gruff, with a slight drawl. He said a lot of things like 'if you do that, you'll be sorry'. Threatening and menacing despite his best efforts otherwise, as the module says.
Elmo had kind of a southern thing going, although not over the top. A more cultured yet tough sound.
Y'dey was kind of a butch woman (but that may be my fault, cause if I was woman I'd be butch . . .)
Spugnoir was pretty normal, although if I'd been thinking he would have had a french accent.

Re: Character Voices
Actually, now that you mentioned Chatrilon, that reminds me...
I had mimicked the voice from Baldur's Gate of the first assassin the protagonist encountered, at the Inn. "Hello friend...". It put the party right on their guard, but his description said he would seem suspicious.
