forgotten realms
I play in the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting and I was just wondering where people thought Hommlet should fit in on the FR map.
I put it about a week from Daggerford, mostly because I was playing before in the Silver Marches, and Daggerford is near enough to it without so much snow all the time to worry about.
What do you think?
I think I'm also going to start doing what everyone else has been doing and start a log of the events that my PC's go through on this board and probably a website somewhere as well.

I also DM the Return in the forgotten realms...I have set all of the sites in the Dessarin hills region, using Yartar for Hommlet and Beliard for Rastor. Waterdeep takes the place of Verbobonc easily enough. So far its worked very well, slotted in pretty seamlessly! =0)

Me too...Realms game.
Mine's set in the Dales, with Hommlet in Daggerdale.
There's a section in the FAQ at the top of this board about setting RttToEE in the Realms - worth a look.
Wherever you know well and like as a campaign area probably works just fine without more than very minor tinkering with the area or the module. I don't really know the Silver Marches well but I'm sure it would fit there too

My Campaign is set in in Chondath/Sespech
Next to the Chondalwood, Torkie, the Firesteap Mts. etc...

I'm thinking of putting it the souther portion of the Ride, north of the Moonsea, in a range up there. It's basically just for convienience, as that is where the group is now, and it seems silly to send them halfway across the world on a hint.

Setting...
I chose to set my game in Tethyr, specifically the mountains along the northern border. I searched through my FRCS, and happened to see a mention of an old volcano in them thar hills.
We start char-gen tonight, wheeeeee. I'm running the adventure pack reccomended to get them to 4th level, which should take a few months. I'll be adding my campaign logs to the others on the board.
