Treant and Jaroo
Heya. I've never DM'd before so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

Since every grove needs a Treant(MOTW:ERRATA) what would be the reaction of the Treant to "Jaroo"? Would it know that he was a doppleganger? Or would it just know something was wrong?

One of my PCs is going to make a druid so i wanted to know what people thought would happen if he tried to commune with the Treant.

I'm not familiar with the errata you're referring to, but even if it is the "norm" for a druid grove to have a Treant, I'd say that the one in Hommlet does not. Treants would not feel comfortable living that close to a city, especially one that's been growing by leaps and bounds.

If you really want to include one, perhaps it's "gone to sleep" due to the presence of so many humans, and doesn't have the faintest idea that Jaroo isn't Jaroo...or about much of anything in the last 3-5 years.

re:treant and jaroo
I beg your pardon I didn't mean errata. I was referring to the web enhancement on the wizards.com website. In any event, I made a mistake in thinking the "sample grove" represented what a grove had to contain. So a Treant is not necessary.

I may create one anyhow and use your asleep idea. I think my player might enjoy having his own grove if he can uncover the doppleganger and get rid of it. I may put the grove farther out of town as well so as to make the Treant living there more believable.

Anyway thanks for the idea. By the way, I've been keeping up with your campaign thread. Nicely written.

Re: re:treant and jaroo
Thanks...I've enjoyed writing it as well. It's taken quite a while, but my group's journey through Return has been a lot of fun and very rewarding. In one way, I'm looking forward to seeing how it ends, and in another, I'm going to regret having it all be over.

Glad you liked the idea...let me know if anything comes of it.
