As indicated, details are available in the DMG. But it's worth nothing that this particular item could be a mind-bogglingly useful tool in the party's efforts to take out Prince Imix.

Yeah, but once you have the talisman and once you're face to flame with Imix, you will have been through so much that actually using it to take out Imix will be sweet for the PCs (and their players). I've just started reading up on the recovered temple. Damn, that's brutal...

Um...correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Imix immune to the Talisman's effect? From my reading of it, it'll be handy vs Lareth, the Second, the Medusa...but shouldn't affect Imix in the least.

I agree with Andorax. It states in the item description that it functions against evil divine spellcasters, which Imix is definitely not.

Do you think it would work if Imix was given some semi-divine or divine ranks, as described in Best of the Boards? I suspect not, but it woudl be worth a thought.
And where is Imix going to go in the Fire Node anyway? It's only a small moon, after all...

Well, traditionally, the nodes aren't really moons in the celestial sense. They are more like demiplanes and would, I guess, float in the Ethereal plane.
I'm sure that some of teh more erudite Greyhawk scholars will set me straight now.
