ZfC site update
I've got a meager front page now ( zans.clanplaid.net/ ) that lists what I am hosting. Page 21 is now hosted there ( zans.clanplaid.net/page21/ ). I'll be putting a redirect from where it's hosted now soon, so update your bookmarks.

I've also started reorganizing the file archive. I'm going with the 'by chapter' organization per the conversation in the other thread.

One possible annoyance is that bundles will be split up when I do this (like the 'HighRes' folder). I may try to use links to organize them both ways. Look for a 'Bundles' or similarly named directory if I decide to do this. Stuff that was at the main level and anything uploaded from now on will be put in 'Unsorted' if I haven't had time to sort them.

The upload web page is about 1/2 done, but I keep changing my mind about how I want to store the file info when I replace that default d/l interface, so it's stalled a few times :)

In the meantime, please continue to FTP upload your favorite bits to tyranena dot astro dot wisc dot edu into the directory 'rtee' (and mail or PM me about it). I plan to leave this site up after the web interface is done for those of you who want to leverage FTP options like sending whole directories.

Comments are welcome as always!

Edit: added u/l info for completeness.

Re: ZfC site update
Looks great! I suggest creating a directory called Items where you can put stuff like the DeckOfManyThings.zip and similar ideas. You might also want to make a directory for Earth Node (or just Other Nodes) and put BarqMulch's documents there.

I think it's perfectly okay to split the bundles up however you like. For instance, the stuff in HighRes could be split up into each of the areas (CRM and OuterFane). I'm not sure where the overview map should go. Btw, do I need to upload that again? If so, please delete the old one and let me know (either here or PM) and I'll do it again.

Thanks a lot for this site! Far better than Y!.

New news...
More new tidbits:

* I've sorted all the first round of uploads now. I'm not 100% happy with the organization, so some things may move around.

* Upload web page is now open. See the front page ( zans.clanplaid.net ) for info. This is my first cut at one of these, so there might be some lingering (esp. browser specific) issues. If you get an error, please PM or e-mail it to me.

* I was a bit surprised at the bandwidth and disk space we are using for the file archive! We are way above the 'normal' user for my friends' hosting business. Fortunately, they are OK with it for now (I've asked them about it explicitly). However, I've put up a Paypal link on the front page to help them defray our bandwidth usage. If you end up finding the site really useful, it would be great if you could send them a few gp. :)

* Next up is an overhaul of the file archive interface... it looks like I'm going to be doing this from scratch 'cause I haven't found anything useful on the 'net so far (that's free).

Edit: link fix

Re: New news...
Three things:
1. Your link in the above post is in error.

2. I sent some money to Imagiware to help with the cost. Hope it helps.

3. Do you guys (i.e. Thrommel) think it would be a good idea to provide a post in the FAQ to provide links for general use? We could use this thread for everyone to post links and then someone (I'll offer) can group them together. I'll start a list here. For now I'll leave the ezCodes on, but I can turn them off later so that you can easily add this to the FAQ if you want.

Q: Are there any RttToEE links?

A: Absolutely! Here they are:

Triumvirate of Bastages Presents...Urodia
ZansForCans RttToEE Resources
ZansForCans (Note: choose Yes then Guest Account)
ZansForCans (auto login)
chartam's Mini List
chartam's Tales of Achar
Darktheatre Adventure Resource
SolidSnake (with intro)
mak's Finnish site
Praetor's site (Guy from Belgium)
LostSoul
The Trinity Campaign
When Darkness Falls
Stuart's RttToEE Campaign (Lorrin)
Yahoo! RttToEE Group

Edit: Did you know that ezCodes can't handle an https link? ZFC, I hope your link works.

Edit 2: Added Yahoo! group, Lorrin's, and ZFC auto login. Any more?

{Your link in the above post is in error.}

Thanks. I forget the auto-URL isn't good with parens sometimes!

{I sent some money to Imagiware to help with the cost.}

Much appreciated!

{Did you know that ezCodes can't handle an https link? ZFC, I hope your link works.}

Yes, I figured that out when I first put links in my log. We've had a redirect from http to the https up for a long time though, so no matter what the prefix, you have to deal with the cert (the first time). Useful, but can be deceiving.

That's a great idea for a FAQ Q. I almost posted something similar a month or so back when I was prowling for other sites, but it slipped my mind for some reason.

If you'd like a direct link to our campaign site that includes the auto-guest login, try this slightly longer one instead:

https://www.codefuries.com/private/GEAS/wot.cgi?username=guest&password=guest

Sorry for the lull in visible changes recently. I'm working up the backend for the file archive, but it's going a bit slow (RL, and all that :) ).

Ok, I added this to the FAQ, but I think we are missing some people's sites.

Post here if you want your site in the list.

Re: Recent file uploads...
After a few uploads came rolling in, I noticed a curious 'feature' about Windows (maybe just IE?) uploaded files. It was recording the entire path of your files!

Needless to say this made for not only unwieldy named files, but also gave me an unasked for look into your HD layout. :\ I would make some crass comment about the security of your browser sending such info along with your submission, but you've probably already though up one yourself :) I didn't realize this was a possibility, so it's probably a good thing to keep in mind when submitting files via a web interface with this (these?) browsers--make sure you trust the site! Don't worry, you have nothing to fear from my site... :evil

I reworked the code about a week back to not record this information at all, but broke things for you Windows folks in the process. Sorry!!! The following uploads were not received properly. If you (I don't have a record of the senders) can re upload them, we'd appreciate it. Thanks!

The RttToEE Keys Zip File is mine
Zans,

I noticed it wouldn't take my upload last night but didn't have time to get you an email.

I'll try uploading it again tonight or tomorrow. :D

Looks like Map F with Encounters is up there already.
zans.clanplaid.net/rtee_f...unters.doc

But I uploaded its again, maybe I had uploaded it twice, I didn't notice any glaring differences, but the one I just uploaded is definantly the most recent one.

For some reason, ZFC, your site or my connection to your site seems to be having difficulties. Will try again tomorrow night. :)

Yeah, something bad(tm) happened to the nameserver for the clanplaid.net domain, which I once housed, but now is remote. Sigh. I haven't received any info about it yet. The host machine is totally unaffected. If this last more than another 24 hours, I'll try changing the hostname out of that domain.

I'll keep you posted.

Up then down...

A simple hard reboot worked and then a whole IDE bus was missing. In my zeal to get it completely fixed I tried a remote reboot, but it hung.

This happened once before and we got it working again without much trouble, but now the guy who's hosting the box is most likely asleep... look for it to be back tomorrow (I hope!).

I'm going to try to set up a secondary nameserver when it's back up so that if it goes down in the future it won't affect the zans.clanplaid.net pointer for us.

Sorry for the re-outage.

I've recently uploaded the interactive versions of CRM Maps J, K, & L. I'll send the others over the next few days as I finish them, and then I'll move on to the outer and inner fanes.

They are by no means perfect, but they get the job done.

Enjoy.

Okay, I added H & I, which should complete the collection on CRM maps. Zans, could you let me know if you've received these?

Oh, and I've started on the fanes . . . Keep your eyes open . . .:)

Yup, they're here just fine. I've got a lot of stuff to move over this weekend, but I'm also nearly done with the new interface. I'll try to get them all moved over tonight.

This is a note for all the people who would like to use my version of the maps, but don't have Photoshop:

If you have access to Photoshop Elements, or Adobe PhotoDeluxe, either of these lesser priced packages will allow you to work with the layers in a .PSD file. I believe Elements runs something like $99 or $199, and PhotoDeluxe is usually bundled with stuff. If you have a newer Dell, you probably have it. It's only Windows, though. You Mac users (like me) will have to settle for the vastly superior Elements.

Shout if they never made it and I'll repost.
