Thrommel + friends
So, the party in my game has been leaving high level npcs' bodies laying around. Doomdreamers have been itermittantly raising a few of them. This has not worked so well for the temple.

They've just destroyed the second temple (earth, then water). Bethe will be visiting them the next night. I suspect she'll die after killing the party mage. Rather than go to Victor, then the guy with the Dire Lions, etc,

here's what I'm planning:

Oomarthis died three nights ago, last night his body was recovered by the doomdreamers, raised and given to Thrommel who was convinced to kill and bury him. After Bethe fails, the dueregar will be sent out. He'll probably die again, but not until after some good dialog.

At some point soon the party will get around to killing Eeridik, at which point the temple will give him the same treatment. Is a vampire wererat sorcerer too mean?

I figure being forced to do this will give Thrommel some depth and reason to want to deal with the pcs.

Has anyone else tried something like this?

Just remember to separate "doomdreamers" from "Hedrack". Of course, you can run your campaign differently, but basically the doomdreamers do not take part in anything until the Inner Fane is breached. I'm not sure if you really meant doomdreamers, though you said it twice.

I think it's just as likely that the higher level NPC's would just be fed to a monster here and there as they would be raised. You should come up with a solid reason for each NPC to be raised, especially if you did so before the 2nd temple was downed.

I don't think Hedrack gives a rat's ass about Eeridik (pun intended), so I doubt he would do anything. There's always another, slightly lower level mook to take any commander's place.

"Is a vampire wererat sorcerer too mean?"
Certainly not! Nothing is too mean for the ToAC!

As for Thrommel, I like the idea of him trying to convince the party to remove his coffin from the Outer Fane.
