Fire Temple Question
Hello again.
My party snapped at the chance to help the Water Temple assault the Fire Temple. In preparation for this I was looking through the module to figure out the save bonus for the Fire Altar and couldn't find it.
I'm guessing since it says it was created by efreeti' using wishes that the caster level should be 18 (effective caster level of the efreet), making the save bonus a +11 total.
Did anyone else' party decide to aid the water temple? If so, did you treat the Fire Altar as magical? And if so, what did you set the save bonus at?
thanks,
Seravin

Re: Fire Temple Question
I treated it as an attended object so long as Tessimon was riding upon it.

Re: Fire Temple Question
I, too, considered it a magical creation since the text states the Efreeti using wishes to construct it, among other things.
I agree with the save bonus of +11. If I remember correctly a magic item has a save bonus of 2 + 1/2 caster level. So if it was created by an 18th level caster the bonus would be +11.
Of course, if you treat it as an attended object, as Andorax has stated, that will change the save. Either way would be fine, I think.

Re: Fire Temple Question
I don't know which save is better (Tessimon's or +11), but remember that even an attended object gets the better save of either its own or the person attending the object.

Re: Fire Temple Question
I knew but had forgotten. Thanks for the reminders guys. For the record Tessimon has a listed fortitude save of +8.
I appreciate the reminder...
