Where next
I am running RTEE, and I am trying to plan for the future of my campaign. I set the game in the Dalelands of the Forgotten Realms. I thought about running City of the Spider Queen next, but my group includes a Drow elf in disguise! That could be problematic. Should I write my own? If you were to run another store bought, what would you run next, considering where the game is set?

Re: Where next
Just for reference, the other active campaign in our group (where I'm a player) is going through CotSQ right now and one of the PC's is a non-evil aligned drow. It's actually been quite convenient for the DM to channel information our way about drow life that we might not know as players.

He has to disguise himself frequently when near civilization. Since we started at 9th level and he's a Sor, that's not a big issue. It might be tougher to run starting at 3rd or 4th, but it shouldn't be impossible.

However, if you run RttToEE all the way through, you might find your party at 11-13th, which is quite a bit above the starting level of CotSQ. You might have to do some tweaking to blend them...

As a side note, the DM has serious forum-envy since he's found very little on the web to support CotSQ.

Re: Where next
Thanks for the reply. I didn't know the starting level was lower. That's good to know. I guess I forgot to mention an important detail. The drow in the game I run is an evil drow. She was introduced into RtToEE as a spy from Llolth, which was a very cool idea. Going into CotSQ might be tough b/c she is a truly evil drow.

Re: Where next
Not really. The big bad in City of the Spider Queen is a cleric of Kiralanselee (I mangled that name, I know it). As your Drow is a Lloth worshipper, it's very easy to get him/her to go and investigate (another possible plot hook).

Just my two ceramic bits.

Re: Where next
That sounds cool. In the CotSQ, do the PCs have hostile encounters with the Llolth worshipping drow, or are do they end up working in conjunction with each other to stop this cleric.

CotSQ
I am planning doing the exact same thing: I am running RttToEE right now, and will be running CotSQ right after...

There is a Role-Playing opportunity in CotSQ where the party meets a Lolth-worshipping drow (preistess? I can't remember) and can align with her to help remove the Kiransalee drow from the city in the second chapter. So I do not see any problem having an evil drow tag along...in fact, it just may prove to be that Drow's duty to go! They should be the one pushing the party to hurry up...

Another thing to remember is that setting of CotSQ assumes that Lolth has stopped giving spells to her followers...you didn't say if they were a priestess or not, but this could be a problem...

As for the level difference I look at it this way...after RttToEE, brezzing through the first few chapters of CotSQ will be a welcome 'reward'. It would be nice to have high level characters that actually rocked every battle! The xp will naturally be less, so by the time the Final Chapter is reached, they should be at an appropriate level...

Since the new Dragon and Dungeon Mag's detail a Githyanki incursion, I just may do something like that to end their non-epic careers and propel them into epic level...The new Dungeon (#100) has a High Level module where the party goes face-to-face with the queen of the Githyanki...in the module she is tring to attain god-hood...in th process of defeating her, I am thinking that divine spark gets divided, and the party gets a free level (which at the end of the module, should put them at epic)...just a thought...

Re: CotSQ
Careful where you fling those spoilers! ;)

Fortunately, we're just about at that point in the city, so you didn't really spoil me too much, but I think I'll stop reading this one now... :)

Re: CotSQ
That encourages me to run CotSQ next. The Drow in my group is a Sorcerer, so she shouldn't be affected by Llolth's misfortune. Thanks!
