Running the Game, Having a blast
Hey, this is my first post here, so forgive any errs on my part.
I've been running the RttToEE for a little while now, 6 or 7 sessions. We started it up as a little mindless hack-fest while I took a break from running my normal campaign. I thought it would be nice to have little to no prep work to do before a game.
Well I was a bit wrong on the prep work, but I was right about the fun. My players really enjoy this module (do people even still use that word?), and I am considering running this all the time instead of my normal campaign for the summer (I figure we should be done it by then).
Anyway I found these boards extremely stimulating and they are full of great suggestions, so I was wondering if there was any interest in yet another campaign synopsis. I am looking for feedback and criticisms (preferably of the constructive nature), and some general discussion on the campaign with fellow DM's.
So is there any interest in this kind of thing, or is the market already saturated?
Thanks

Re: Running the Game, Having a blast
I never get tired for reading a new campaign write-up. The myriad of possible interactions beween the characters, campaign world and the presentation of the module (yes, I still call them that) I find quite interesting. No two RttToEE are completely alike. I have learned quite a bit from reading how others have portrayed the NPCs and handled PCs actions. If you look back just a little ways you'll see examples of just how different the town of Rastor can be from one campaign to the next. Even though its been a long time since I ran the Moathouse portion of the module, I still can learn from reading how others DM's handled it.
To think that I have nothing left to learn, or that you have nothing to contribute, concerning this adventure would be pure folly on my part. Share away.

Definitely post the campaign log writeup. I read them all. Just remember the golden rule to type everything up in an alternate editor so that you do not lose a huge post.

Re: Running the Game, Having a blast
Oddly enough, I think you'll find the exercise of writing up a campaign log is reward itself. It refreshes and solidifies in your own memory what happened that session, and you can always come back and re-read your own log entry during the day before you run your session that evening and be reminded of what happened.
I did this consistantly when I ran it, and it helped a LOT.
A word of advice...if you do set up the log, but have a specific question or two, you might want to post in the log that you'll be asking in a separate thread, and start up that separate thread to discuss the particular point. You don't want your log to be choked with a rousing debate about Detect Evil or somesuch.
