QUESTION
How do the PCs hook up with a trail that leads to the CRM? Is there a path to the Old Dwarven mines, or do they wander in the wilderness until they find human tracks?

Re: QUESTION
It's only six miles away from Rastor, according to the overview map. As such, the caldera is likely visible FROM Rastor...and it's been established already that they know there's folks up there "doing something".

"Crater Ridge? Yup...ya see that there line of rock behind them two hills? That's it. Jus up an over that saddle...can't miss it."

"Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"

Re: QUESTION
Andorax...you are the man - or woman, I haven't confirmed that. Thanks for all your help.

Re: QUESTION
Well...given the fact that I've mentioned my very dear and beloved wife on a number of occasions, it's not exactly a secret ;)

Glad I could help. As always, questions are welcome and answered gladly.

Re: QUESTION
Okay, then you're the man! I didn't catch the wife thing. Does your wife play? Mine is interested in the game, but is afraid she won't play well. I can't talk her into it.

Re: QUESTION
[Thread hijack alert]

My wife plays - or she did before our daughter arrived. Her biggest problem wasn't that she was afraid to play badly (she's a confirmed hack'n'slasher, so as long as someone pointed out how many dice to use, she was cool), but that she couldn't stand me during play (we were both players in a modern GURPS campaign). When I showed her my character sheet with quirks and disadvantages, she went "Oh", and that was it.

Another couple had exactly the same difficulties (the wife couldn't stand the husband's PC and projected that dislike onto him), but she couldn't handle the fact that he was just playing a role and quit.

Re: QUESTION
She ran Lyssa, the Half-Orc cleric of Kord, and the longest-lived PC in the RttToEE campaign I just completed.

Currently, we have 3 (yes 3) campaigns going. My regular Friday group that's been going over two years now, she's playing a 12th level Pixie Rogue. We've just started an Everquest D20 campaign, and her Vah'shir Rogue is fairly good friends with my Gnomish Mage/Cleric. Finally, we've had a change of plans on Sundays...what used to be RttToEE night. The first DM bailed out on us. He wasn't prepared to deal with a gang of rampaging barbarians. So now Steve (the player who ran Spud the Ogre) has taken over, and we're running a group of raw recruits to a mercenary band out of Cormyr. 2nd level...I've pulled Cleric duty, and she's running the big fighter.

Re: QUESTION
My wife also plays. She's Verilia, a halfling druid (if you read my log). Offgall, if your wife needs convincing, have her contact Nekkira (on these boards) or SLyssa (I'm sure Andorax's wife wouldn't mind either).

"I've pulled Cleric duty..."

Sheesh! You say that like it's a bad thing!

Re: QUESTION
I might have to. Well, one day. Our group is packed right now anyway. We have eight (including myself), so it's a handful already. If someone drops, I might have to get her to talk to Nekkira or SLyssa. Thanks.

Re: QUESTION
My wife plays. She actually DM'd the group I'm running through their first few levels, with me as a player, which was nice.

Then I took over, and moved things towards RttToEE, where the group is now working their way westwards from the South Entrance.

They lost 2 players to the hydra, using Fachich's raise dead scroll to bring one back, and then had an easy time with the orcs.

She plays a 6th level Paladin of Helm named Vhran. She did a minor side-jaunt to gain her hippogriff mount recently, and just gained her cohort from the leadership feat, a 5th level fighter named Kurik (her squire).

She is sort of absent for the first part of each session, though...until our 6 month old daughter Camille goes to sleep.
