Darth Imix?
Have been having a bit of a fun time purchasing some plastic animals from toy shops recently (for use as figures in my game!!) and was thinking about what I was going to use to represent the 50' Imix when the time comes. I know a few people have talked about this in the past, but I was wondering if anyone has considered using or has actually used a toy action figure for Imix?

I'm thinking that at 50' tall you need a figure of about 20cm to 25cm in height. And whilst thinking about this my mind wandered to Star Wars and Darth Maul.

So, what do you guys think to using a 20cm tall Darth Maul figure to represent Imix on the table top? Okay, so his light sabre is more of a double sword, but I'm sure that could be fixed one way or another (change Imix to use a double sword? or alter the figure - I quite like changing Imix myself but that might make him too much like Darth Maul.).

As far as I see it the pros are that Maul is mostly red and black, with a demonic face and uses a glowing red sword. He should be reasonably aquireable too I guess (although maybe less so than a few years back). He also conjures an immediate evil image.

The cons are that he's Darth Maul and altogether recognisable as such.

Any comments?

Cheers,
Blakey

That's actually a cool twist, if you don't mind the Star Wars influence. Give Imix a double-bladed sword (with necessary feats) and a telepathy ability at will (supernatural I think would fit the ability best).

If you use 5ft=1in scale (sorry, we don't use meters across the pond :) ), then I put Imix at 10in high.

He'd have to have telekinesis if you were really going to make him a 50' tall Sith Lord. But I've just a small feeling that might spoil the ending of the campaign and in a way destroy the suspension of disbelief - by crossing ToEE with Star Wars...

I'm sure Monte wouldn't appreciate his climactic final battle being hijacked by Star Wars either. :)

But I might have to use the figure anyway, as it has to be better than an Action Man... ;)

Re: Darth Imix?
Apologies to the Star Wars fans out there I'm likely to horrify.

Perhaps...but what would work even better would be if one used the Darth Maul mini as a framework, pasted on a lot of little flame-shaped bits of paper mache until the figure was utterly unrecognizable, and they layered on the red-orange-yellow paint until he was a massive flaming humanoid figure again.

Better still, you don't have to hold out for just Darth Maul...any figure of the appropriate height would do, and you can look for one with a regular sword.

"Whadda ya mean, Orcs get levels too?!?"
