Small Water Temple Story
I've been extremely negligent filling in my story here, the writing was just coming too slow.
But I do have a small tale to tell.
I had a player voluntarily jump into two of the pools on the water temple platform, black then green.
As for the reasons why he volunteered, it was a combination of misinformation and greed.
At a point right before the platform, my characters encountered the water naga that voiced disapproval of the affairs of the four elemental temples. She then went on to tell the party that in exchange for a prized magic item (mainly the Sword of Water that is affiliated with the temple) that she would tell them the secrets of the area.
She misinformed them about a few things, then told them by jumping in the pools and then completely immersing yourself in them, one right after the other, that you would get "enhancsssementssss to Ssssstrength and Ssssspeed."
The character who jumped in, bought it hook, line, and sinker (ba-ba-bum!). He is a psi warrior who uses some infernal power to walk on water. He strolls up to a quite empty temple (guardians are underneath waiting to suprise) and he procedes to jump in the Black pool (the first damage) and then right into the Green "making sure to cover myself completely".
I suppose you could say that he was under a compulsion effect, I do have a way with my group.... but truth be told, circumstance played that the greedy guy, wanting even more power, went first...
Well, I hope he learns this lesson.
The place where I discuss the rules are here.
