Hedrack's scrying skill, Outer Fane Ogres
Not exactly an error, but why doesn't Hedrack have any ranks in Scry? Given his measly +2 Int bonus, he's going to have a tough time using that Greater Scrying spell he's prepared.

This, however, is an error: I noticed the Ogres in area 3 of the Outer Fane have an attack bonus of +9 with thier greatswords. First off, they're not proficient with greatswords, so they can't even take Weapon Focus. "Giants are proficient with all simple weapons and with any weapons listed in their entries."

Even if we did give them Martial Weapon Proficiency (Greatsword) for free, they're still not gonna be proficient with platemail. "Note that each creature is proficient in whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) that is is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types."

The way I figure it, they should have an attack bonus of:
3 BAB + 5 Strength + 1 Masterwork - 4 non-proficient - 6 Armor Check Penalty - 1 Size = -2.

If I get around to it, I'll post the stats for these Ogres with a level of fighter (which should fix both problems).

Edit: Noticed that they have masterwork weapons, figured that in.

Edit: Noticed that the Bugbears in area 9 have similar non-proficiency problems.

Yes I noticed that too, as the time Hedrack will scry my PCs is getting near.

If it makes you feel any better, if you convert to 3.5 there will be no more Scry skill and success will be based upon a will save by the creature scried upon.

I think it is going to be a lot harder to notice if you are being scryed in 3.5 as well as your skill ranks no longer matter, and it is just a simple DC20 intelligence check.

"They were immediately and absolutely recognizable as adventurers. They were hardy and dangerous, lawless, stripped of allegiance or morality, living off their wits, stealing and killing, hiring themselves out to whoever and whatever came... They were scum who died violent deaths, hanging on to a certain cachet among the impressionable through their undeniable bravery and their occasionally impressive exploits" China Mieville, Perdido Street Station

Unless they change the saving throw rules, I think it'll be a lot *easier* to know you're being scried upon. Even if you fail your will save, you'll get that "tingling sensation" and know that someone, somewhere is casting magic on you. No way to tell it's Scrying per se, but that's not a bad guess.

I have a feeling the "tingling sensation" won't apply to scrying but of course I haven't seen the book. I do know that it is a straight up DC20 INT check to know you are being scried however.
