Destroying the obelisk in the moathouse...
Last session my players entered the hidden cave beneath the moathouse. After a lot of troubles (and 10d6 falling damage ) they discovered the great obelisk.
I know, next session, my players will try to destroy the obelisk. Is their any way for them to do this? Can they push the thing over (TIMBER!!!!)? Or is their any other way to destroy it?
Also, what would be the side-effects for such an action? Is their anything linked to the obelisk? For instance, if they destroy the obelisk, will there still appear ghouls in the moathouse?
Is there anybody who dealt with this problem?

Re: Destroying the obelisk in the moathouse...
Have a look at the FAQ and BoB sticky threads at the top.
This is a question that recurs from time to time - basically, the short answer is no, the PCs can't destroy it, but seeing how it reacts when they try can REALLY freak them out

Re: Destroying the obelisk in the moathouse...
My players never even tried to bother. A 60 feet high upside down obelisk floating in the air above a 20 feet high small pillar just screamed artifact to them. Even with a gem between the point of the obelisk and the pillar the whole contraption is impossible without some ultra-powerful magics. In fact, they concluded that the pillar was actually the prison of Tharizdun (or to be more precise - my version of T) and that destroying it would release it.
