Re: Already done
I'm nearly done with the CRM, but I have a favor to ask. It doesn't look like the room pass was completely done (MM page refs, traps, spells, etc.) on the last CRM thread (earth temple). smetzger covered the NPCs and I'm starting to check and enter them now.

Any one up for it? I'll do it if no one else does, but it would save me some time.

CRM: Whew!
Just wanted to toot the horn and announce that everything through the CRM appears to be all done! Great job everyone! The drafts have been updated on my site, so you are welcome to snag the latest copy and send any further corrections my way. I'm interested in hearing about and fixing even minor formatting/spelling/etc. issues, so please let me know.

Onwards and, er, upwards? Well, maybe inwards. Hmmm. Time for the Fanes...

You rock! Great job! One comment about the comment boxes. It sucks that they get separated like that on different lines. I know it's a problem with Word and I know of no way to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Not sure what you're referring to there... can you give me an example? I'm usually pretty good at manhandling Word ;)

Re: CRM: Whew!
In the PDF, under Chatrillon, the comment box (yellow background, black border) splits not only across columns, but also across pages. It doesn't look right to me. It should still be a solid box on both pages. You can set up the paragraphs to not split across pages, keep with next, but then you get blank areas, which is also not good. I don't have an answer, just commenting.

Re: CRM: Whew!
Ah, yes. I know what you're talking about now.

It's tough for me to say which way is better. Look at Big U to see a similar situation, but one that breaks on a paragraph. When I first saw that (the Big U split), I thought, if it was going to split on a column/page, shouldn't it really be 'open' without the bottom border to let you know that there was more on the next column/page? But, it sounds like you'd rather have them solid in both cases.

I think it would be fairly easy to have those boxes only break only on paragraphs (with keep next like you say) if I can't figure out how to close the box arbitrarily. Most of the comment boxes have short paragraphs anyway, so it might not put too much white space in. I'll play with it after the text is mostly finalized. I'll probably tweak where page/column breaks are anyway after we get everything in.

One more thing to think about is whether we should split the FAQ into a separate document now. We're up to 70 pages! It's nice to have it all in once place though.

[rant]One really annoying thing is that Word won't show me spelling as you type any more (the wavy red lines) because I supposedly have "too many" spelling errors in the document (mostly stat block abbreviations). Gotta love hard-coded limits. Geez. I think my year-old, top-of-the line laptop with 1GB of memory can handle a few spelling errors! Then again, Word likes to do something that takes 10-15% of my CPU time in the background all the time. I'm pretty certain that my documents don't look more done or better formatted when I start working on them again. Gotta wonder what it's thinking about... Sigh...[/rant]

Sorry for wandering a little off-topic there... had to get it off my chest ;)

Outside the Fanes
Was there anything done with the section on the lightning towers, SERs, and outside the fanes? I don't have it on my page, which means little ;) . I can do the searching if there was... I was vaguely remembering something, but maybe I'm just remembering the thread on statting up some of the tower sorcs.

"Was there anything done with the section on the lightning towers, SERs, and outside the fanes?"

It's in the Lightning Towers thread.

When you get to it, there's also a section on the courtyard between the Outer/Inner Fanes, and the door.

I've dealt with this trick before.

Edit each "chunk" separately in a new document, then c&p it into the core document.

Thrilled to hear that we're nearing completion on this. IT's been quite the project, and I'm so thrilled that it'll be a kicking available resource to DMs.

Have you tried using the 'ignore all' option on the stat block abreviations, or even adding them to your dictionary (do this while doing a traditional spellcheck via the menu). One or both of these options should help :)

Re: Outside the Fanes
Both ideas are ones I considered, but haven't yet for lack of effort ;) I will breakdown and do one of the two... Actually that was a bit of a reminder for asking about splitting the FAQ up (although not the real reason, of course).

I wasn't in the habit of visiting the 'traditional' spelling box, so haven't tried the ignore all option yet. This might help...

Re: Outside the Fanes
And to finish off this off-topic meandering, adding to a custom dictionary was the best option. Ignore all wasn't good enough for some reason. It was still keeping them around enough to complain about 'too many'. This works nicely now anyway since I can use my normal fixing routine (right-clicking) for game terms as well now.

ok, thanks to Zan for his great editing job, i`m happy with this pdf-file...:D . (it`s much easier to handle as the appendix in the book, and i can write my own changes directly on the paper)

so i hope the rest will be finished soon...

other thing:
has anyone an answer from monte?

Well, fine, put the screws in! :)

I'm a little worried about some RL issues coming up (like a possible return to my own campaign next Monday!), but in theory I think two weeks should do it for converting the web stuff into the PDF document. I wanted to be done at the end of last month, but it just didn't happen.

Everything through the CRM is finished and maybe a 1/3 or more of the OF is done. IF and FN are still to go. So like 80-90%? You can see the progress at zans.clanplaid.net/v35/ .

I'm sure there will be dribbly (not sure if that's a word, but it fits) things left to clean up after that, but it should be pretty good. Scans through what is already there, perhaps focusing on what you each worked on, would help us catch any loose ends.

Keep Lucia away from the computer! ;)

PS I have one (our first) on the way now, too. Due June of next year.

Format Suggestion
Hi,

I have a suggestion/request. Last session I used the pdf printout at the game table and I shuffled the papers. After shuffling the papers it was difficult to figure out the order of the pages since there was no page# printed on each page.

So, could you add page numbers?

Thanks,
*:> Scott
