Re: 3.5E Conversion, Section 1 Notes and Assignments
Okay, sorry about that. Got kind of busy the last couple weeks when the company I work for went Ch. 11 (reorg bankruptcy). I still have my job (I'm considered 'key'), but now I do the job of 5 people instead of only 2. *sigh*

I'll update the list in a few moments and I'll finish the towers this weekend.

Don't worry about it, I2k. Good luck with the re-org. Hope not too many of your friends lost their jobs.

Nevermind. I asked Andy the WOTC intern and he said the Conversion Agreement doesn't cover 3e material. Oh well, I tried.

Actually, I'm kind of glad it's not really an option. For various reasons that aren't probably good to set in stone here, I'd rather stay away from such issues. I haven't been the happiest person with their selective ideas about "fair use" or some of the evolutions of their license(s) recently.

Updated... I'm not sure where the Ruined Temple thread is, I know I saw the Hobgoblins done by smetzger somewhere but it isn't linked from page 21.

Ok folks...just hit an issue working on the Nulb bits!

Anywhere we reference an NPC who "uses the stats from out of the Dungeon Master's Guide" may well NOT have stats anymore. Remember, the DMG doesn't have level-by-level equipment for NPCs anymore.

We might want to make a command decision here as to whether we want to reference the (incomplete) entries in the DMG for NPCs, or if we want to start cranking out a new HOST of statblocks.

Personally, since we're as far along as we are, my preference is to just reference the DMG and let the DMs fill in the needed blanks.

Absolutely. I think it does warrant a special statement somewhere to warn the DM that some extra prep will be needed.

If someone wants to work on this, I'd suggest it be included as an extra appendix or a supplement document. But, I strongly agree that we focus on it later. I'd be happy to continue to do formatting for such a thing and even pitch in on creating some, but I won't be touching this until the main document is done.

Re: 3.5E Conversion, Section 1 Notes and Assignments
Okay, I updated the progress. Everything is 'done' except the lightning towers part, which I will have done this weekend. Additionally, I'm sure there are other things which should be looked at, like traps, etc. But, those can be taken care of (For now) in the editing and errata.

To Do:
1. Remaining Parts of Section 1. (Daeinar, Andorax, unassigned)
2. Final Draft. (ZansForCans)
3. Edit/Errata. (everyone)
4. Release. (ZansForCans)

Btw, do you think we could get Monte to write a one paragraph foreword for the 3.5 Conversion document?

AFAICT, my parts are all done. Cordo just didn't mark the three moathouse batches off as finished. But they're already in the document.

Updated.

"They were immediately and absolutely recognizable as adventurers. They were hardy and dangerous, lawless, stripped of allegiance or morality, living off their wits, stealing and killing, hiring themselves out to whoever and whatever came... They were scum who died violent deaths, hanging on to a certain cachet among the impressionable through their undeniable bravery and their occasionally impressive exploits" China Mieville, Perdido Street Station

Ok, I've posted Nulb and the Ruined Temple, though I still need to get page references added (and welcome anyone to look it over to see if I missed anything).

What's left? I think we've got it, save for editing and complining, yes?

I fully back I2K's suggestion of asking Monte Cook to offer us up a forward for this. Anyone know him well enough to ask on all of our behalf?

I'll try to pitch it to him.

Sorry for not reading all 9 pages of the thread, but is where is this thing currently located? Is there a URL I can point him to?

All the related threads should be linked from there. The current version of the document (still in progress) is also there at the bottom.

Re: Nulb, et al. Cool! I'll jump back to incorporate that before returning to the CRM. I was looking for a reason to put off dealing with Eeridik anyway. Good timing! ;)

Not really. I think ZansForCans could use some help, particularly in reviewing the PDF for potential errata. As soon as ZansForCans is done entering all the stuff, though, I think we should call it a day. I'll be posting the last section (the towers) in a few minutes.

Re: Already done
Yeah, please take a look at the document whenever you have some time and let me know of anything you find. Every time I post an "added" comment, I try to upload the current version. I even want to know about formatting issues, if you care to notice them (although, ignore spacing around punctuation in statblocks... that's an ezCode issue that I will clean up more with global replacing at the end).

Also, feel free to range ahead of me (I'm on CRM, Map H right now) in threads that you didn't work on if you want to do double-checking.

I'm going at a pretty good clip now, but my time is still spotty. I don't want to make any promises yet, but I'm hoping to be out of the CRM in a week and then another or so to finish the rest. Cross yer fingers...

Any word on a possible Monte endorsement of our efforts? I'd love to have his 'seal of approval' on it.

I checked with him and he's checking into some things. (You know, he doesn't actually OWN any of RttToEE, WotC does.)

Are you guys all finally finished and ready to rock with this awesome monster?

Re: Already done
Not quite yet...we're still getting it finalized (go Zans go), re-double-checked, and then uber-finalized.

I guess we're not really looking for anything official (knowing full well WotC owns the module, not Monte)...but more along the lines of "hey, I actually looked at what these guys did, and it looks like they did a good job, kept to the spirit of what I was trying to do when I wrote it, etc."

Just something to let the RttToEE-owning public know that the guy who wrote it thinks this conversion is along the right lines.
