"Radiation Incident" for the 3.5 switch|

At the end of the session, I plan to describe a horrible hail-storm (at the end of may), with purple clouds in the sky, tornados, lightning, etc. Anyone who makes a DC20 Wisdom check will notice that things seem to have Changed, a la Dawn's arrival on Buffy. Arggh! Vranthis has to have spider climb! He's already used it! Oh well, I'm sure my players will understand.
I'd originally hoped that this incident would be caused by the discovery of the Champion, but my game got delayed a bit when half my party left the continent for a month, so it's too early for that now (they've only destroyed the Earth Temple so far). I think the cause will be Lareth's execution at the hands of the authorities in Hommlet, and Nierethi's completion of a ritual involving Lareth's remains to steal his destiny, becomming the (still undiscovered) Champion himself.
Hmm... that means that Nierethi is probably going to change from an Illusionist, to a Bard. I was planning to level Nierethi up as a Cleric of Tharizdun for a few levels, and then add on some Mystic Theurge, but that's probably not going to work now. Another issue is that the rogue in my party just multiclassed as a Wizard, and the spell book he started with was actually one he stole from Nierethi a few sessions previous; as a Bard, Nierethi doesn't need books any more! The Rogue/Wizard will be in for a surprise when he next checks his spellbook and finds that all of Nierethi's Illusions have dissappeared from it's pages...
