3.5 conversion: Elemental swords?
In the module, the Elemental Swords all grand Endure Elements against some energy form. In 3.5, Endure Elements is a completely different spell. Should the 3.5 Elemental Swords grant the more powerful Resist Energy?

I'd vote for just reproducing the text from the old spell instead and keeping the 5 point damage reduction. Doubling it sounds like a bit too much of a power step from the original intent.

Its not unheard of for a magic item to give slightly less protection than the spell which created the magic item. Bracers of Armor anyone?

Re: 3.5 conversion: Elemental swords?
Good point. There should be a change in the upgrade, though, to match with the change in behaviour on a per-round basis. In 3e, Endure and Resist Elements subtracted the first 5/12 points per round, while in 3.5, Resist Energy substracts 10 points from every attack.
So, I'd say that the 3.5 elemental swords provide Energy Resistance of 5 pts, that is applied to every attack individually of the appropriate energy type.

I agree. I think that is fine, and the text can merely say exactly that.
