Trogdor the Frostinator
Ever wonder what to do with the Young adult white dragon on the Rastor and Area wandering monster table? Here's how I'm handling it in my campaign...
Trogdor the Frostinator is a particularly brash, but not very wise, example of his species. His motivations are simple: frostinating the countryside, frostinating the peasants, and frostinating the people in their thatched-roof cottages. He makes his lair in a network of caves cut into a cliff face high in the Lortmil mountains. He frequently leaves his lair to hunt in the night, trusting the terrain and remoteness to hide and protect his horde. Over the years, he's developed quite a taste for the mad cultists who dwell in Mount Stalagos; something about their particular brand of madness makes their brains especially flavourful.
Trogdor the Frostinator: Male young adult white dragon; CR 8; Large dragon (cold); HD 15d12+45; hp 142; Init +0; Spd 60 ft., burrow 30 ft., fly 200 ft. (poor), swim 60'; AC 24, touch 10, flat-footed 24; Base Atk +15; Grp +23; Atk: Bite +19 melee (3d6+4, 10' reach); Full Atk: Bite +19 melee (3d6+4, 10' reach) and 2 Claws +13 melee (1d8+2) and 2 Wings +13 melee (1d6+2) and Tail Slap +13 melee (1d8+6); Space/Reach: 10 ft./5 ft. (10ft. with Bite); SA Breath weapon; SQ Blindsense 60 ft., damage resistance 5/magic, fog cloud, frightful presence, icewalking, immune to sleep, paralysis, and cold, keen senses, vulnerability to fire; AL CE; SV Fort +12, Ref +9, Will +8; Str 19, Dex 10, Con 17, Int 8, Wis 8, Cha 13.
Skills and Feats: Intimidate +19, Jump +9, Listen +17, Perform (sing) +10, Search +17, Spot +17, Cleave, Flyby Attack, Improved Natural Attack (Bite), Power Attack, Weapon Focus (Bite), Wingover
Blindsense (Ex): Pinpoint creatures to 60' range. Allows targeting without sight, but does not eliminate concealment.
Breath Weapon (Su): 40-ft. cone of cold, 5d6 points of cold damage, Ref save DC 20 (half).
Fog Cloud (Sp): 3 times per day, caster level 5, range 150 ft., duration 50 min. 20 ft. radius fog bank, provides concealment (20% miss chance) within 5 ft., total concealment (50% miss chance, no targeting by sight) beyond 5 ft.
Frightful Presence (Ex): 150 ft. radius, Will DC 18, creatures with 4 or less HD are panicked (drop everything, flee at top speed, -2 on all saves and checks) for 4d6 rounds, those with 5 to 14 HD are shaken (-2 on all attack rolls, saves and checks) for 4d6 rounds.
Icewalking (Ex): As spider climb, but only on icy surfaces, always in effect.
Keen Senses (Ex): Includes darkvision 120 ft. and low light vision.
Possessions: Big Beefy Arm of Glory (worn, see below), Ring of Protection +1 (worn on left claw), Ring of Minor Energy Resistance (Lightning) (worn on right claw), Ring of Jumping (worn on Big Beefy Arm of Glory), 800 gp, 9000 sp, 86 cultist skulls, Fragarach The Answerer (see below)
Big Beefy Arm of Glory: As a Hand of Glory, which Trogdor wears on a chain hung jauntily backwards around his neck. To a casual observer, it might look as though the arm were actually sprouting from his back, between his wings.
Fragarach The Answerer: Holy Axiomatic +1 Bastard Sword, any enemy that hits the wielder in melee combat provokes an immediate attack of opportunity. This sword, which once belonged to Prince Thrommel of Furyondy, was taken by Trogdor 20 years ago from a caravan of mad cultists he killed near Mount Stalagos. He cannot use it; it's remained buried in his horde ever since. While he is unaware of it's heritage, he is aware that it is a valuable piece of treasure and will guard it jealously.

Re: Trogdor
You'd have had a better chance, msherman, if there wasn't already a very nice mini-adventure for the white dragon on the random encounter table in Rastor in the Best of the Boards...

Re: Trogdor
For what it's worth, I changed around a couple of feats; I dropped Multiattack and Blindfighting, and replaced them with Improved Natural Attack and Weapon Specialization, both on his Bite. I figure he concentrates all his efforts on those consummate v's in his mouth...

Re: Trogdor
msherman, I can definately say, without any idea what in the heck it really means, that that is truely craptastic.
I'm curious of one thing, though...did you consider using my proposed version of Fragarach in the BoB?

Re: Trogdor
Andorax, your Fragarach was the one with Karmic Strike, right? I didn't want to introduce the feat, because I'm not using OE in my game, but I did base my version on yours, just simplifying the feat into the one line "any enemy who hits the wielder provokes an immediate attack of opportunity." I also reduced the +2 to +1, just because it's already a 100kgp item with a +1. With a +2, the Chaotic Good fighter/rogue in my party may actually be tempted to use it, sucking up the negative level from Axiomatic. With +1, he's less likely to -- I really want this to just be a plot device to build up Thrommel's backstory and maybe provide a hook for redeeming him.
