3.5: Miscellaneous Conversion Notes
There might not be even a second post in this thread, but it didn't seem to fit with any of the others. This covers the miscellaneous sections at the beginning of the CRM.
pg. 39 - In "3. Sneak in Disguised" modify change self to disguise self due to the renamed spell.
pg. 40 - Random Encounter Table EL changes
1d4+1 ogres is EL 6 (CR 3 instead of CR 2)
young adult white dragon is EL 8
huge monstrous spider changed CR as well, but it seems the table was wrong in our favor so no change required
pg. 41 - Tal Chammish: Male human Rog2; hp 11; see Dungeon Master's Guide page 123
pg. 41 - Change Alchemy to Craft (alchemy)
pg. 41 - Change "see page 62" to "see page 65" for cooperation bonuses on healing people addicted to Tanbrosh
pg. 43 - Random Encounter Table
salamander, average is EL 6

Tal and Craft (Alchemy)
If you want to give Tal Craft (Alchemy), techinically you would need to give him a level in a spellcasting class. I suggest making him Rog2/Src1 rather than Rog1/Src1. In this case, the CR increase is very little compared to the level of the party by the time they reach Rastor (5th or higher), and Tal really needs the skill points from Rogue to operate effectively in the town.

Re: Tal and Craft (Alchemy)
Remind me...does Tal already have Profession(Herbalist)? If not, I would suggest instead substituting this for Craft(Alchemy) and avoid the issue of Alchemy entirely.

Re: Tal and Craft (Alchemy)
Tal is not statted, but referred to as a generic NPC build from the DMG. My suggestion was towards the DM who stats out Tal specifically (like I did in the stat blocks). I think craft (alchemy) is the choice because that is required to make the Tanbrosh. Perhaps craft (poison) is another choice. Profession (herbalism) doesn't (per the rules) let you 'make' anything.
Any suggestions are good, though.
