Gnolls move 30ft now due to the replacement of their scale mail armor with leather armor. Consequently, the AC drops by 2. Listen is now +2 (instead of +3 previously).

They listen (Listen +1) or watch for ...
Orcs (2): hp 5, 7; 2d10gp each; see Monster Manual page 203.
Orcs are now 1st level warriors by default. They have studded leather armor instead of scale mail, lowering their AC by 1, but increasing their movement to 30ft. They use a falchion instead of a greateaxe. Their skills, saves, and stats change slightly. Because they get 1d8+1 hp now instead of only 1d8, I increased their hp by one each.

If you wish to improve the archers, replace their Alertness with Exotic Weapon Proficiency (repeating crossbow), Listen and Spot are each -1, and the total ranged attack is +2 with the crossbow.

Re: D'Gran
Only some minor comments on D'Gran. His darkvision is 90' from ogre mage (trumps the 60' from 1/2-fiend). When adding it in, I also changed the Smite description to be for him specifically: +5 points damage.
I like how you split out the Spell-like's. It's very clear now.

Re: D'Gran
One comment about D'Gran. I pitted him against my players this weekend. He was hurting pretty badly, and all but one of his lackey's was dead. So, I had him go gaseous. Then when the players turn came and tried to hit him I read the spell description. Doh! it doesn't make you incorporeal it just gives you DR 10/magic. I should've just had him fly away. Oh well...

Re: D'Gran
ZansForCans, I actually looked at that and I believe it's a typo in the ogre mage stat block. Look further into the Ogre Mages as Characters. I think that section is more pertinent because ogres have darkvision 60ft and that's the way it was in 3.0. One or the other is errata, for sure.
"it doesn't make you incorporeal it just gives you DR 10/magic"
Man, that's a bummer change. Thanks for the heads up.

OK, I didn't notice that. We should note it in the comments section.

Re: D'Gran
I updated the comments section in D'Gran. Thanks for pointing it out. Do you think he's tougher now or less so? The extra bite attack probably doesn't make much difference.

Re: D'Gran
I think on paper he's not all that much different. His new space increase, which increases the size of his threat zone will probably be the biggest difference tactically, but I haven't run him yet...

Slaazh
Brianiac troll that he is, Slaazh did not fare well in the v3.5 transition. His dumber brethren now have the same number of skill points as he does! Thus, he looses his bonus 1 point of superiority over them for Listen from 3.0 (now +5). Also, the Spot should be bumped up to the racial base (+6).
Perhaps this is a silly wash (and perhaps you already knew this), but I'd suggest keeping the racial points spent the same as the base creature.

Re: Slaazh
Slaazh has a higher Int, true, but 2-1 is the same thing as 2-2 because you still have a minimum of 1 skill point per level. As for Spot being higher, that has been corrected. I agree with your point, though, and that skill was missed.

Right. Sorry I was being obtuse... it was late and I was getting slaphappy
In 3.0, his increased Int mod made a difference (1st HD was 6+Int mod), giving him one more racial skill point to spend. Monte spent it on Listen. In 3.5, he doesn't have that advantage (your point above) so it should be back down to +5.

Re: Descritad
I'm still coming up with 3 rogue points unspent for Descritad (see the current errata) even with the new skill calculator (45 total points vs. 48 ). If you end up agreeing, I'd still recommend putting some, if not all of them into something she can use her tools with (well, when she had them ).
Also, her Swim should be +6 now as the armor check/weight penalty for her in v3.5 is one worse (-4).
Finally, like the errata (OK, so I wrote that part ), I'd suggest putting in a more explicit note that her Balance, Climb, Jump, and Move Silently are up by 2 and her Swim is up by 4 without her equipment, her likely encountered state.
With that, I think I'm done with my pass here too. One final question for you since you're one of the ones putting the most effort into noting the creature changes from room to room... I noticed you duplicated your comment from C52 to C53 for the orcs. Should I do the same for C50/51 for the gnolls? In these cases they are close physically, but I can see where the duplication would be nice for widely separated entries (and not just in the first one). Should I make it standard formatting when the comments exist?

Re: Descritad
"Monte spent it on Listen. In 3.5, he doesn't have that advantage (your point above) so it should be back down to +5."
Since Monte spent it on Listen, I'll change Spot back to +5.
Descritad: Sorry, I forgot to include the errata. Anyway, my calculation on her skills (including the minuses to armor of -2), leaves her still way short (no pun intended). Assuming barbarian is the first level, she gets 4*6+8*3=48 (same as you got). I get 2 unspent rogue points. For skills spent (in 3.5, mind you):
Balance: +0Brb +5Rog +4Dex -2AC = +7
Climb: +6Brb +1Rog +1Str -2AC +2Racial = +8
Hide: +0Brb +4Rog +4Dex +4Size -2AC = +10
Jump: +6Brb +0Rog +1Str -2AC +2Racial = +7
Listen: +1Brb +4Rog +0Wis +2Racial = +6
Move Silently: +0Brb +1Rog +4Dex -2AC +2Racial = +5
Spot: +0Brb +4Rog +0Wis = +4
Survival: +5Brb +0Rog +0Wis = +5
Swim: +6Brb +4Rog +1Str -4AC = +7
If you add up the Brb, you get 24/24 (I maxed Brb skill points spent so this is guaranteed). If you add up Rog, you get 22/24. Note that Swim has double the AC penalty, not just one worse (two worse). Does she get an encumbrance penalty?
I agree with you about the Note for all AC penalties and that has been updated. I spent the remaining two skill points in Open Lock (+2 +4Dex +2mw tools).
Regarding the updates of all the monsters, dunno! I think they should be included and duplicated in the appropriate areas, but unless you do it for all of them, don't bother. Don't think my effort wasted though, because I'm doing it for myself, too (I am updating all my stat blocks).

You have 23/24 rogue points there, but you only need 3 Rog points in Listen to get it to her +6. No biggie--we agree I hadn't put the extra point back into Swim to get it up to +7, so that's why I had 3 to play with. For the errata, I had her Swim penalty at -3 (I didn't re-do her weight calculation this time though...) for the equipment she had (-1/5 lbs, I think?). So that's why I had said it was one worse. Again, we both agree it's -4 now, so we're on the same page
Good enough for me!

Orc Archers

I was working on the next section where Xzar noted this as well. He has -3/+1 for without/with Exotic. You have +2 here--is there something missing/different here? I'm getting just the +1 as well.
I'm also inclined to do what he did there and just say that we did swap the feats. Since the War 1 in the MM is just 'typical', it's easy to do this and keep Monte's stats the same without straying much from the core creature.
Thoughts?
