Another Demonstone Victim
One of my most beloved player characters, Tuborg, lost his life last night ... because of the Demonstone.

The player had roleplayed the situation beautifully for weeks by both subtly hidding and showing his newly aquired CE nature. His behavior towards foes became increasingly violent and sadistic while at the same time he was increasingly oblivious to the suffering of the victims rescued from the Doomdreamer's Fanes. He had managed to stay below the party paladin's "detect evil radar" for a few weeks and was quite happy to see her die at the claws of Chymon.

However, his luck ran out last night. While under the influence of a Hold Person spell (cast on him by his own party because he'd been Dominated by Thrommel), he was unable to avoid a cleric using Detect Evil to try and find the hidden Thrommel. Following the demise of the Dark Prince, they all turned to Tuborg to try and fathom his change of heart. They suspected the Demonstone's influence but Tuborg refused to give it up and he died in battle trying to retain it. The players didn't use subdual damage and Tuborg's player never warned them how close he was to death. With only 1 hp left to his name he suffered a stunning blow from the PC monk for 11 points of damage and died.

They hope to raise Tuborg from the dead (as they have a scroll) but ... they have yet to destroy the Demonstone.

Who will be its next victim?
