How feasible is it to use RttToEE in AU?

I want to run Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, but boring old Greyhawk is so dull... do you think it's possible to you the module within Arcana Unearthed?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but AU is a game system, not a setting. Greyhawk is the setting. Place RttToEE in any setting you want. Many of us use homebrew worlds, others use FR or Greyhawk, or anywhere.

To use AU, however, you'll have to do a fair amount of conversion. It should be closer to 3.5 than 3.0, however, I think, but I could be corrected.

Siobharek, have you finished that AU conversion yet? ;)

Actually, I'm working on writing an article that will talk about replacing the Greyhawk setting with the elements of the Diamond Throne.

It will probably appear on diamondthrone.com in a few weeks.

The plotline can be converted to AU without too much trouble. But the actual encounters would be a lot of work (many clerical villains in RttToEE), so you might be better off stealing the plotline, locations, maps, and some of the personalities, then populating them yourself. It's a considerable amount of work either way, though.

<Looks in horror at Inf2K>

An AU conversion of RttToEE?! No, no, NOOOO....!

Actually, Thrommel made noises about his conversion, so I backed out (lamest excuse ever - the thought didn't really cross my mind.)

And as for Elefant beer. Any of you guys who show up here will be treated to a warm welcome and a cold half-litre here.

I'm running the Freeport trilogy, which also has its share of mad clerics. I've replaced the clerics with other devotees of chaos, from Verrik who don't really believe that the world will end, but who want to see if something can be discovered along the way, to faen, who take a perverse joy in observing madness, to humans and sibeccai who either see madness as a route to power or who genuinely believe that a world of chaos would be a better place from a Darwinistic point of view.

An AU RttToEE would have to answer the question "Why strive for chaos", but in a large (dis-)organization such as the one presented in RttToEE there might be many answers. And these answers might in turn rationalize the conflicts of the various factions in the Crater Ridge Mines.

Ehm, I'll stop now and withhold my comments till after Thrommel's piece. After all, he called dibs on the blasted thing.

I think AU is perfect for RttToEE because the emphasis AU puts on the four elements. It introduces elemental damage (as opposed to energy damage), and other cool elemental things like spell templates and more spells with the elemental descriptors.
