Fire Temple finds South Gate & Air Temple Empty – What d
Ok, here’s the quick back ground. In a span of about 4 days the party has cleared the South Gate, the Air Temple, found the dwarven temple, killed the Hydra and wiped out the orcs east of the WBC. When attacking the WBC, the party lost several characters and has returned to Verbobonc.
As the party was leaving they ran in to a group of Fire temple guards returning with several wagons full of supplies. One guard escaped, and has made it back into the CRM & back to the Fire Temple with the knowledge that the South Gate is unguarded and that the Air Temple appears empty.
So what would the Fire temple do? They will end up having 3 plus weeks before the party returns.
My first thought is they would secure the gate, and then destroy the Air Temples Alter so their power could not return to the CRM. Thus increasing their power even more, is this reasonable and what else would they do?
Thanks

Well, they're evil and don't like the Air Temple, right? You just summed it up rather nicely, I think.

Renegade - thanks for the confirm there it helps.
At this point they have sacked the Air Temple and destroyed the Air Alter. The replacements coming in for the Air Temple & South Gate are now Fire Temple members and watching the South Gate.
In addition, the Fire Temple now (with a liberal use of silince) communicate with the South Gate and the WBC.
ANyone else have any ideas?
Thanks

Well, just so you know, I'm not authority on RttToEE. I based my answer off of the typical behavior of evil groups in general, not off of anything specific that I know about the Fire Temple.

Re: Fire Temple finds South Gate & Air Temple Empty – Wh
personally I would have Zert or someone else kill off the Descratan between the south gate and the fire temple. The ant's can be avoided, and the creature was useful while the air temple and water bridge were there, but now it is an annoyance. Cast silence on a stone for Zert, goodbye monster!
Looks like the fire temple have things pretty wrapped up, but what about the water temple sting? The fire temple may have their leaders spread pretty thin by this point, with 1/3 of the CRM to cover - it would be easier to hit it, how about now? I must admit it is fun to have the chance for the party to assist, so in that vien perhaps a Kou-toa seeks them out to enlist thier aid?
Also D'Grann has no paticular fondness for the fire temple, they just pay him well, so he wears their badge, how about a little discord there?
