Re: Bolstering
Can a cleric bolster himself? Perhaps, but I still wouldn't say that it stacks with the turn resistance. Since +4 is the max anyway, bolstering wouldn't help.

You don't even need Greater Turning. You can have a low level vampire and a high level cleric. I would personally rule that it reduces the vampire to 0 hp just like 'killing' it does. Just because it is a power granted by the deity, it doesn't make it any more different than, say, an empowered searing light. Same thing with disintegrate.

It's just me, but maybe I'm just a hardass DM and I like my vampires. :)

Re: Bolstering
I agree. A turned vampire goes gaseous, and runs away to his coffin for 10 rounds. A 'destroyed' vampire does the same thing, only he doesn't return until the next night.

Re: Bolstering
I disagree. A 'destroy' effect from turning or a disintigrate should be the end of the Vampire.

Re: Bolstering
I do remember reading (under the vorpal description) that it mentions a vampire is at risk of death from attacks by weapons with this enchantment (unlike most undead) when it gets it's head chopped off. Again this comes down to personal preference, but really allowing them to be destroyed by turning is no real biggie as you still mostly need a cleric with greater turning to destroy the lowliest vamp. If said undead has at least 6 levels once the +4 turn resistance is added you need a very specific cleric to kill them.
