I'm a long time lurker. I have gained better insight in this adventure thanks to all of those who have contributed. I figured I break my lurking cycle and post this:

So my group has been laying waste to the western half of the CRM, they made contact with Moolowik, and I to implement my version of the Water Temple’s assault on Fire.

My group’s first conquest in the CRM was the Air Temple; they also forced Poolidib to flee his post. I decided that he returned to the Water Temple, and now so of its leaders know of the group. Here’s where it get sticky:

I am playing up the three-way conflict of the Water Temple. With Nilbool taking advantage of the sudden power vacuum that the absence of the Air Temple and the PCs has created.

I figured he would convince Kalashien to send an occupying force to claim the South Door; this move basically boxes in Fire Temple, and that will aid the Water Temple’s assault on them.

Nilbool puts his master plan into effect. He sends most of the humans, all of the elves (including Kadiss), and Poolidib as the occupying force, along with a mercenary company that was recruited (using the restocking rules). He convinces his allies in the Cave of Hidden Secrets to send some more Kuo-Toa to the Water Temple.

He also has Moolowik on his side; he has given the PCs the invitation for a meeting with Poolidib to discuss an alliance. The PCs know that they are planning an attack on Fire (the rogue overheard a group of kuo-toa that were going to relive Poolidib’s guard).

Nilbool sent the humans and elves to the gate hoping the PC would annihilate them. Using an invisible Moolowik to disrupt the meeting, and then he would assassinate Kalashien and Oomakan.

I any comments, criticisms, or ways I can augment this plan would be greatly appreciate.

FRED

Don't fortget then to add a Potion of Silence (or sneaking) to Moolowik's inventory. It will aid him in his disrupting efforts

I like the intrigue angle, that's what I'm hoping to work on this time through. I'm actually just getting ready to look at the various factions within the CRMs to figure out what I want them to do.

That particular intrigue sounds good, what with multiple backstabbing and layers of betrayal. My only question is this: what is the Fire Temple doing about all this? Surely one of their spies has figured out that -something- big is going down, and they would want to take advantage of the momentary chaos to make sure they come out on top. Tessimon is incredibly paranoid, to the point that she had other Fire clerics assassinated for "coveting her power." I can see a Fire strike on the Water Altar coordinated almost exactly with the meeting and the assassinations.

I don't think the FT is going to be able to do any thing about it. The FT may the big guys on top in the CRM, but they are also the most clueless too.

They have no spies outside their domain. It seems to me that FT is so secure in their position. They also seem to be the most united of the for temple.

Anyhow the more I think about this the more I wonder how I should I should resolve this and keep th PC in the middle?

Moolowik is my sacrifical lamb, he is carrying documents implicating Nilbool. When he forces Poolidib to attack the PCs, should I just say that Nilbool is the new leader of the WT, and when the PCs encounter the FT, should they find that the WT has already attacked the FT (should the altar and Tessimon be destroyed)?
