Moolowik's singed report|
Had another session today... had to share a funny moment.
So the group comes back into the mines, having recently cleared the earth temple. Now they decide to go south, and spend the first two hours of session time *very* carefully going through the rail tracks down to the crossover room. I thought I would go insane by the time they got there. The only somewhat live moment was when the Rogue observed "two red dots at about floor level" in the otherwise complete darkness of the Thoqqua room, and surmised that they represented the two eyes of the dragon they had heard about previously.
So they climb down the ladders, move into Marlgran's room, get rid of him and the rust monster, and go to area 25. Moolowik observes them from around the corner. They start walking carefully south along the 5' ledge, when they get attacked by the ochre jelly.
4 splits later, and the situation is a bit desperate; they havent been able to damage these things (the jellies), only split them over and over again. The ranger just took a step back and disengaged to think things over, and its the sorcerer's turn.
He looks at me and says "I take a 5' step back, then fireball the tunnel!". The four players whose characters are still along the ledge look at him in horror. But he tosses the dice. The jellies all expire, and the party members all look at me slightly dumb-founded as I ask that the roll their reflex saves...
Moolowik, in the meantime, is faced with the interesting experience of a super-heated rush of fire quickly expanding towards him in the tunnel, accompanied by a rapid boiling of the water in which he is waiting... luckily for him, he does make his save and makes his way, slightly dazed, out and towards the water temple. His report will be "saw a group of madmen; maybe we should let Tessimon recruit them".
