Information about EEE, the first TOEE, etc from Y'Dey
Hi people,
my first post here, but I'm a longtime reader and fan of this board. I'm running RTTOEE now for over 1 1/2 years and we still just made it to the CRM... (Little time on our hands...)
I read so many of the logs, browsed through the abundant wealth of incredible creativity here and got many a inspiration from you guys.
Reason for my first post is, I run RTTOEE in the Forgotten Realms and really have some theological problem with the background story of the module.
When my players first came to Hommlet (Ashabenford IMC), I still was struggling with this beast of a module and found the construct of the EEE as cover for Tharizdun a bit confusing, to say the least. Throw in all the other evil buggers who joined the game on the road to evil world domination, and how they were actually worshiped, I somehow lost it and I think my players got way too little information about their findings of weird cult symbols and that.
I went mostly with some advice from the Best of the Boards (where Zuggtmoy was Moander, EEE was Ghaunadaur, etc..) as to how place RTTOEE best in the realms.
But still I can't decide what to let my players know and how I can give them accurate information, so they at least have a little clue what went on, when the first temple went down twice (I didn't play the Original TOEE).
So far I know what the module gives on information but it is really scarce and I never know, what would be too much knowledge for the players.
I searched the boards up and down and also had my fun with this funny search engine (which doesn't let me search for more than one term... ), but I just don't have the time to read ALL the excellent logs.
So, if any of you played the module in the Realms and can give me some direction, as to what and especially WHEN I let my players know about Tharizduns/EEEs cult, all the other cults, who were involved now and then and all it's accompanying implications, it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers and thanks for any advice,
dg
