[3.5] Conversion & Errata Document
Merry Christmas all
Here's a little present for everyone.
Now of course, as I write this, I have little bits and pieces that keep coming to mind (like scanning the other Appendices a bit more thoroughly), but it's pretty much all there now and very full of errata, conversion info, statblocks, and FAQ's. 97 pages of it to be exact!
I want to first apologize for how long my part of this effort took. It turned out to be a lot more work than I first anticipated (and I turned out to be pickier than I anticipated )! But, I'm very happy with what we've produced here. I hope it helps keep the interest in the adventure going for a while longer.
A huge thanks to Andorax for getting this whole thing rolling and organized, even after his own campaign was done! I think you really got the momentum going by ripping through some of the hardest stuff so quickly (and so well-done). Thanks to everyone who typed in all the statblocks and spent time converting everything. I know I likely would have never considered doing this for my own campaign without this team effort. If you contributed, make sure your name is properly credited in the intro. I'd hate to have accidentally missed anyone.
Sorry about the size of the PDF file (~6 MB). I have Acrobat now, but haven't had time to play with all the settings to see if I can reduce the file size without degrading the quality. If anyone has problems with the files, please let me know.
Let's shift tweaks on what's in the document to this thread now. If you have further things to add in the individual sections, we can keep having discussions there (they're all listed on the page I linked to above).

Three cheers for Zans!
Thanks for all the hard work, Zans. I, the players in my game, and I'm sure all the other regulars and irregulars on this board _really_ appreciate it.
So, Infinitus has already made an appearance in my game... any preference on where I slip Zans in? With Varachan about to get exposed and flee the outer fane, it might be time for another Planar Ally...

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
Thanks, Zans...both for the compliment, and most especially for your own extraordinary effort in this project.
It's been a lot of work, but I already know there are DMs who have benefitted from it, and I do hope to see more DMs continue to get good use out of it.
I just wish we had some way of circulating it better, so that more people would be willing to pick up the "old" module, knowing that 3.5 compatability isn't an issue. Wonderful work, and I'd love to see it get as much USE as possible!

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
I've still been thinking about putting up a belated review of the adventure, but have been waiting until I get my group through the CRM at least. That would be a good place to mention it since anyone thinking about running it might scan reviews first.
I think it's well worth publicizing on ENWorld and other sites, but maybe we should wait to see if Monte's going to mention it himself first, which would be better PR (and would hopefully get picked up by more places) After the holidays might be a better time to announce it too so it doesn't miss those who aren't in their regular news browsing cycle.
Getting the word out to your FLGS wouldn't hurt either if you talk to the clerks/owners regularly. I think you mentioned this before as well. I'm not sure how to help them tell browsing customers about it though. Maybe we could make a 1-page flyer or something that they could put near/in the rank if they wanted?

AWESOME!
I'll check again if Monte is able to do a foreword, but I wouldn't expect to hear anything til after the holidays.

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
First off, thanks.
I downloaded the word document and noted that it has macros in it. Being paranoid I disabled them before viewing the file. I'm writting to confirm that they (the macros) are indeed safe and not some carrier virus or worm. In short I'm just asking that you verify that you intended to include macros in the document (I'm not exactly sure why, but whatever).
Anyway the effort is greatly appreciated.

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
The macros are just formating conveniences for myself. They are harmless (hopefully!). I will try to remember to remove them in the next release since they really don't need to be in there.

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
No, I hadn't seen that (or I2k's--sorry!!!) My inbox wasn't lit up for some reason.
So, is that just some Acrobat manipulation? I just got Acro a month or so ago, but haven't had time to delve into using it on this yet. Thanks for the effort! I'd like to be able to do this myself if I have to update it again. Is it easy?

Thanks, ZansForCans! For anyone else who's listening and cares, I have updated stat blocks in the Miscellaneous folder, under the name 3.5 Stat Blocks + BoVD.zip. A readme file in there explains the file.

Or added to the FAQ.
"They were immediately and absolutely recognizable as adventurers. They were hardy and dangerous, lawless, stripped of allegiance or morality, living off their wits, stealing and killing, hiring themselves out to whoever and whatever came... They were scum who died violent deaths, hanging on to a certain cachet among the impressionable through their undeniable bravery and their occasionally impressive exploits" China Mieville, Perdido Street Station |

There are now references to the conversion document in all three stickied threads. The FAQ even has a question at the end.

The FAQ should have "Why isn't the conversion thread sticky?" in it. We've covered that ground before.

Re: Three cheers for Zans!
hi guys,
found this wrong entry:
in statblock to Redithidoor Halfmoon,
there is arcane spell failure 15 % which is wrong cause bards ignore spell failure when they wear light armor
