Small equipment??
Are there any small-sized weapons in this module?
Again, after searching the wole book, I can't remeber seeing any small-sized humanoids who might be wielding a weapon or armor that could be used by halflings.

Am I wrong or does the player of a halfling character have to buy the equipment he'll need and won't ever find anything useful?

Re: Small equipment??
I don't think any of the NPC's have small equipment. The only small characters I remember are Descritaad the halfling, who uses a scimitar two-handed, and Firre the gnome, who I think uses an axe (don't have my books to verify). Questin Himble, a halfling from Hommlet uses a dagger, but thats about it.

I think your halfling will have to buy equipment.

Just in case I misunderstand, you are not talking about 3.5 small equipment, are you? Like a small longsword or something? This module was written pre 3.5, it only has small, medium and large sized weapons.

Hope that helps in some small way.

Cheers,
Simon.

If you are using 3.5 weapon sizes I would pick about 20% of the weapons, best being the ones that make the most sense, and size them to small.

"They were immediately and absolutely recognizable as adventurers. They were hardy and dangerous, lawless, stripped of allegiance or morality, living off their wits, stealing and killing, hiring themselves out to whoever and whatever came... They were scum who died violent deaths, hanging on to a certain cachet among the impressionable through their undeniable bravery and their occasionally impressive exploits" China Mieville, Perdido Street Station

Thanks, I'll do like Cordo suggested.
I was indeed talking about the 3.5 rules where a medium-sized shortsword counts as a longsword when wielded by a halfling.

But I also just thought about something.
If they find a dagger, the halfling can still use it as a shortsword. In that case it won't be that much of a difference I think.

Re: Small equipment??
Descritad would have Small weapons in her bag of holding, in D'Gran's room I think is where it's located. Anything Firre is using would also be Small. Other than that, I don't believe anything is Small by default, although you can make any random treasure (not associated with a body, like the skeleton in the pool by Vranthis) Small, if you want.

This is not true. A character using an inappropriately sized weapon gets a -2 penalty, cumulative for each size difference. It also changes the weapon's designation (light, one-handed, two-handed).

Re: Small equipment??
Although true, what Infiniti2000 didn't mention is that there is also a variant rule in the 3.5 DMG for counting "certain" weapons as equivalent when sized up/down, and avoiding the -2 penalty as a result.

For example Shortsword <-> Longsword <-> Greatsword. A Large Shortsword (light) counts as a Medium Longsword (one-handed) and a Medium Longsword (one-handed) counts as a Small Greatsword (two-handed).

This variant rule is particularly helpful in a 3.0 module converted to 3.5, since the 3.5 module didn't take into account weapon sizing in the same manner.

Likely, Descritad's weapon is either a regular Medium Scimitar (with variant rules) or a Small Falchon (if you aren't using the variant described above).
