Hedrack and Naquent down...
Hi,
Ok, H. and N. have been killed. V., Thrommel, and Chymon still up.
One of my group has recently sucumbed to the Demon Stone. He is an NPC and lifted the Contact Medalion off of H.'s body before anyone else could notice.
What do you think of this guy contacting Thrommel and offering information about a traitor in his ranks in return for immortality?

Sounds interesting
It sounds interesting. But once he gets the information on who the traitor is, he may make the same offer to the PC's. Info on a traitor in their ranks in exchange for a first class ticket out of the OF, complete with coffin space. I don't see Thrommel being particularly loyal to the doomdreamers myself. If Hedrack and Naquent are dead, Varachan's a traitor and the PC's haven't personally p****d off Thrommel, I think he'd see the writing on the wall and head off for greener pastures.
As for Chymon, I see her as well-paid, happy where she's at and ready to have a big ole PC sandwhich when they come her way. I don't think she cares enough about temple politics to care one way or the other about Varachan so long as she's getting what she wants.

Agreed
Chymon is a red dragon and coulnd't care less. They offered her a nice lair spot and big cash, that all there is to it.
As for Thrommel, he'd definetely offer it, but dominations all around if they refuse. His new "spawn" NPC can help him out

It's worth considering the idea that Chymon was raised from birth in the Outer fane. A young adult dragon is up to 100 years old. The cult has been located at Stalagos for 95 years.

msherman, I love that idea. It gives Chymon an extra reason to stay around and fight to the death. Not only is it her cult, but her birthplace.

Re: Sounds interesting
The way I see it, she's tied to the land, but not the cult. She may have been loyal to them when she was younger, and more vulnerable, but now she's a petulant gen-x-er, stuck living in her parents' basement, ready for some independence. In fact, I'd guess she's rather annoyed by the short-lived humans who keep changing places every 20 years or so, claiming lordship over her. If properly approached by the party, I could see her agreeing to help them against the cult, in exchange for the deed to the Fanes as her lair when they're gone -- that would be quite an uneasy truce with the dwarves claiming the CRM.
