Choranth Errata Errata
Reading about the air temple and seeing the reminder about the skeletal bears made me check and yep, I'd forgot to include them in my preparations, too. I dug the errata and the skeletal bears presented there and noticed the spirit sphere mentioned, so I looked that up.
Even using 3.0 huge skeletons from the Monster Manual, they add up to 16HD which is four times Choranth's level, rather than the two times the sphere should allow her.
If you used even higher HD (ie the bears in the errata), did you up Choranth's level or just tweak the sphere to be more powerful?

My Changes
Bears were never huge even in 3.0, so I don't know what Monte meant here. They don't even have advancement allowing a size change.
I swapped out the Skeletal for the Bone Template (BoVD). The only thing that changes in this case is they retain their Improved Grab ability, a few miscellaneous abilities and feats. According to the BoVD this should raise their CR by 2. I decided that with the limited bonuses given for the bears, that a increase of 1 was more appropriate. So it ended up being 4 Bone Brown Bears at CR 5.
It ended up not being an issue, because the party cleric still turned 3 out of 4 and Choranth fell very quickly. Now the battle against Facish was a much different story.

I'll check out the bone template. I'll probably stick with the skeletal polar bears, but I just thought I'd post with a suggestion for the Errata thread.
I don't know who posts to it, but if my observation is right, it belongs in there...
