Campaign Website
Well I have been writing up the session logs to my strange campaign for quite sometime now and posting them to ENworld (www.enworld.org/messageboards/showthread.php?s=455b1d70f629d7151cbcb98e50b4e11c&threadid=114&pagenumber=1), but I always wanted to make a spiffy website for it and finally after a bit of hard work I succeeded in taking the first steps. The website is not completely done, but I figure I would show it to you guys first since you all like RttoEE evil so much and have websites of your own. My campaign is a rather strange (involving players on both Ravenloft and Greyhawk), but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Tell me what you think

Re: Campaign Website
Love your stuff, man. Especially the intro (gasps in awe, and turns up the volume - thus giving the neighbours nightmares), haven't got the time to go through the campaign-notes or study the other material right now, but I'll definitely try to do so in the near future
Keep it up, and BTW is that a Flash-video, and could it be posted somewhere for download? (begging and bowing deeply)

Yeah, I used flash (man, what a b***h that was to time ...if you like I can find a place to post the intro file when I start to flesh out the site. Please keep checking back and tell me if you like the changes I will continue to make...there is a lot more to come. Oh, and thanks for the positive feedback!

Fabulous prose! Do your players actually say such witty things?

Re: Thanks!
Actually I am surprised myself with the dialogue they are able to bring forth from the game. It's really nice, as it adds dimension to the game and the character development...I really do little to embellish the session logs...it's good on me because I really don't have to work to hard when I write them up

Re: Thanks
Very cool Flash trailer. I added a link to the Yahoo group.
How did you get the text to morph like that? I've been trying to do something similar...

Iawithro- I'm glad you liked it In order to get the text to morph, I had to "break it apart" (a command option) as Flash doesn't recognized text as a graphic for some reason. Then I just used the "Shape" command to continuosly change its structure...suprisingly the help-link Flash gives you really does work. I can send the link of the section I used if you want.
Munchkin-I'm glad that you like the story thus far. If it's any consolation to you, I really never allow things to rest...they always come back to bite my players in the butt

In the words of Kurt Angle: "It's true, it's true." Ironically my players said it was one of the better sessions of my campaign!!! I guess you never know what PCs will like until you give it a try.

Gah! What you said, about breaking the text apart... I figured that out, but assumed there must be an easier way. It's pretty darn hard to manipulate all those little points. I'm even more impressed knowing you spent all that time and effort!

The Opening Music?
Dude the site is fun as @#$% to read and I am currently inside the 4th session read right now. I am looking to add a soundtrack to my campaigns and I have compiled a list of soundtracks that I want but I need to know....Where did you get that opening music from? It sounds really familier (like from a video game or something) but let me know what it is and where I can get it. Thanks.

Re: The Opening Music?
They're singing about Imhotep, so I'd guess it's from one of the Mummy movies.

Campaign outcome
Hate to ask this, SolidSnake, but what are you aiming for in terms of the Ravenloft side of your campaign? I sense an eventual challenge that only the RL group will be able to overcome, but I was just curious as to whether you can drop some info as to what that challenge will be. (I'm assuming - and hoping - that your players don't read this board.)

Re: Campaign outcome
Midniteprism-the song I used is the FF8 opening ("Liberi Fatali" is the title I think...)
ruleslawyer-whew, good question First, I REALLY hope that none of my players even know about this board. Ok, let's see if I can give you some of the background on this...
Originally I was asked to run a strictly Ravenloft campaign, but I found that my players were not completely ready for it...they needed something more epic and less "dark." So I thought up this campaign idea involving them and nearly every major organization in the multiuniverse: the Demiplane of Dread is engulfing everything. The irony is that the people on Ravenloft don't even know what the hell is going on...in fact very few people do, because no one is sure if the Demiplane itself is engulfing everything or if the Darkpowers are manipulating events to force others on Ravenloft to do it for them (hehehe, I won't tell yet.) So, no one is really sure what is going on, but everyone with any amount of pull is afraid that their world/plane is next...enter Greyhawk. This side of the campaign is "no holds barred"/badass war on evil. So what I have done is give the players two types of outlets of roleplaying and show them an epic conflict on many different levels. If the Chosen don't find out what is going on and stop it, many people will perish...however, they are not integral to the salvation of Oerth (yes, Mordenkainen was wrong). Little do people realize that the Mists aren't this black wave of darkness that will turn good people into evil demons and wreak havoc across the planes...instead the Mists only awaken fears and evil that already exits: Tharizdun If you read Mordenkainen's journal entries, you will note he is falling over the edge. I designed this campaign on mostly internal conflict...the only way to beat the tide of darkness is to confront your own fears/terrors and master them...to give you an example: Lathander hates undead, he only lives to destroy them...if he doesn't learn to forgive them and put them to rest, his hatred will consume him and he will ultimately fail. Whew...I hope that it this helped a bit.
Wait, you don't want me to tell you what the ultimate challenge is for the Chosen do you? That is far into the future

Update
OK, well everything is working now...all the links go somewhere and I finally caught up with all the sessions! The irony here is the fact that I will have to take down the website in a few weeks so that I can make space for my final CS project...I will warn everyone before I take it down, so no fear Anyways, enjoy and as always tell me what you guys think!

Amazing
The story is incredible! I really enjoyed it.
The way you used Lareth was brilliant, and the way you have introduced the story elements to the characters shows you to be an incredible DM.
You've given me a baseline with which to roleplay some of the NPC's, and different angles at which to look at things. Thank you.
Also, I really like the idea of the character's facing the evil within themselves before they can face the greater evil threatening the world. It sounds like you have a really good bunch of roleplayers too.
I hope to see more posts of sessions before the site goes away.

Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words Darby! The Lareth event, if you will believe it, was actually something I tinkered with because I thought the party had gone through enough trouble with Wat. Plus, I didn't really think he was all that bad of a guy once you got to know him...so long as you didn't make fun of his face
Yeah, the facing of evil within really comes in some of these sessions but not so much in others...I will try to make some of them more obvious as time goes on, but it is really hard to write up some of these logs. I am glad you enjoyed reading and with any luck the next installment should be coming around shortly!
