Miniature List
Ok folks, I'm close to having completed my miniatures list for Part 1 of the module. I still need some help, though:
Here is a list of individuals from Chapter 1 for which I can't find any good source of minis.
If you can think of a good source for one of the following, please let me know.
Preferably, Manufacturer, Name, Model #, and # per pack...examples:
Chainmail Human Paladin (CM88700)
Reaper Blood Wolves (RR2160) - 2/pack
Here's the list of miniatures I'm lacking a good version of:
Hommlet: Doppleganger (true form), Yundi, Yundi's Wolf, Elmo
Hommlet Random: Ankheg, Wild Dogs
Moathouse: Giant Frog, Grell*, Cockatrice
Nulb & Random: Wild Dogs, Vargouilles, Rast
ToEE & Random: Wild Dogs, Medium Centepedes, Uvren*
* I actually do have something listed for this, but it's a compromise mini

Re: Miniature List
For Elmo, I'm using
Reaper Faramere of Vestonia (2086)
This is from their Dark Heaven Legends collection. It's not perfect, since it has no shield, and is carrying a longsword instead of a battleaxe, but it does look like a ranger.

Re: Miniature List
Thanks, Chartam...I was hoping for axe & shield, but I'll hang onto this one unless someone comes along with a really good recommendation.
The list is coming together. I've also found something I *can* use for Wild Dogs, so downgrade them to a * (I'd still rather have something else, if there's any good suggestions)
I'm almost afraid to compile the list of critters for the CRM.

Re: Miniature List
Not for everyone, but I've made a grell miniature. You can see it in this topic: pub58.ezboard.com/fokayyo...=957.topic
Also, I saw a Citadel (Mordheim) miniature set of war dogs at the Games Workshop store today. I believe the number was 8808. (Edit: It was the "war hounds", and the number is 8808F.)
Edit: Another idea for war dogs:

Re: Miniature List
Chartam, your paper miniatures are amazing (and I can't even describe those of the fellow you linked to).
And the Mordheim Wardogs...I looked 'em up in the GW store, and they're just exactly what I was aiming for here. They're on the list now, and thanks.
Any other suggestions? Please keep 'em coming. I've just about got the list together for Part 1, but I am afraid there's going to be glaring holes in it.

Thanks. I've got a few more, and will post them soon.

So...when do we get to see this list? I've got a few more suggestions here:
Terjon - RR2340 Unthar Godshand
Elmo - RR2073 Longshanks (axe & chainmail, need to remove dagger and add shield)
Spugnoir - RR2461 Cobart, The White
Chatrilon - D&D 40085 Male Human Rogue
Chenashi - D&D Female Human Cleric
Grune - RR2471 Felix Inen
Jaroo (human form) - RR2265 W. McAndrew Sorcerer
Vacra - RR2030 Sarah The Seeress
Nierethi - RR2510 Balto Burrowwell, Gnome
Redithidoor - RR2186 Alfred Redlute Bard (lute instead of recorder...but who makes a mini with a recorder anyway?)
Xaod - RR2188 Knight Templar
Ghoul - CM Ghoul (x2)
Ysslansh - WH8584N Oxayotl & Tenehuini
Also, here are some monster counts for you. I'm only including monsters where there are more than one. There are two numbers for each monster, the number in the largest single group, and the total number.
Moathouse:
Cockatrice (2/3)
Ghast (1/2)
Ghoul (4/7)
Gnoll (6/10)
Skeleton (6)
Nulb:
Wraith (2)
Temple:
Dire Rat (2)
Goblin (6/13)
Hobgoblin (10/23)
Hobgoblin, elite (6/8)
Hobgoblin, young (8)
Rat (4)

Re: Miniature List
Ok...despite it's flaws (I'm still missing several miniatures from Chapter 1), it's avaialble to anyone who wants it via Email.
I'm still looking for:
Hommlet: Jaroo (as Doppleganger)
Near Moathouse: Ankheg
Moathouse: Giant Frog, Cockatrice
Near Nulb: Varguilles, Rast
Old Temple: Tiadden (Human captive)
Near Temple: Medium Centepedes
And looking forward to Chapter 2:
Near CRM/Rastor: Giant Owl, Lions, Assassin Vines, Hippogriffs, Griffons, Dire Bats, Spider Eaters, Bulette, Dragonne, Stone Giant
Any help with the above would be EXCEEDINGLY welcome.
As a final note, I'm working on a conversion for D'Gran using Reaper's Ogre Mage and Gargoyle Leader miniatures (RR2486 & RR2424, respectively). It's coming along quite well, and I can't wait to spring it on the PCs.

Re: Miniature List
For Tiadden, and any other generic human commoners, here's some suggestions. They're all from the Vampire Wars miniatures found on New Wave Games' website.

Re: Miniature List
More minis for commoners: Reaper has released two new sets of minis that could be used for this purpose.
Townsfolk I (RR2583): innkeeper/barkeeper, 'plump' serving wench, slim serving wench.
Townsfolk II (RR2584): harlot, blacksmith, beggar.

Re: Miniature List
Reaper, as usual, is way behind in keeping their website up to date. I found the listings on the New Wave Games website (www.newwavegames.com ), although I've been reading a lot about how bad they are when it comes to ordering from them. I managed to find them at a local store and bought them there.

a little late
I know this is an older post but I'd thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. If you can find them, Ral Partha had basically every monster mini you could want, from cockatrice to grell. You can try thier website (thier back from from bankruptcy) or Ebay.

A little OT question
This is somewhat off topic, but I think it's fairly appropriate. Pardon me if you don't agree.
A while ago I found a search engine for miniatures. You typed in some key words, hit search, and it found a bunch of minis that matched the description, including a picture and the model name (including manufacturer). However, I cannot find it again and managed to delete it from my favorites list...
Anyone know of such a search engine that can direct me back there? I'm about to start work on a diorama and it would save me LOTS of time.
Thanks in advance and I apologize if I'm hijacked the thread,
Sammy

Re: A little OT question
You might be thinking of the one that I built. Here it is: www.origami.as/dnd/minibase
Note that the newest Reaper stuff isn't there (but Reaper has finally updated their website), and that it's incomplete (not all of the minis have full descriptions). I might be taking this down soon (costing me too much bandwidth).

and bump
Where can I get a Howler for the CRM gates? EVERY local store is sold out of them, the distributors as well, and they can't get more chainmail stuff. Plus the chainmail fig was too small.

howler
See if you have a store called Cappels in your area. It is a store that specializes in party, costume, wedding type stuff. They sell plastic animals and such that can be very useful for dire animals. I'm sure you could use a lion or something for a howler that big. Cheesy but it works.
I shudder to think how much money I would have spent on figures for when I ran Nightt Below if I hadn't found little manta rays to pose as Ixzan...

Re: I love bumping this great thread
I have a Chainmail Howler, but alas it doesn't come close to actually capturing the scale of the beastie.
I actually wound up using one of my 3 year old son's plastic triceratops figures.
Ok...it's not a very exact representation (except for scale), but there's a big difference between my "recommended" list above, and my "I actually used these" list that represents my real-world circumstances.

Prepping for CRM...
What about the 2 cloakers and cheap trogs? Reaper has lizardmen but they are like $3 a pop. Warhemmer Lizardmen are pricey too, and i dont think they have a cheap plastics box.
This for cloakers? :www.discounthobby.com/Mer..._Code=910A
I havent been able to find anything else. Just paint a face on the inside I guess?
